Assurant Health ripoff misleading Internet
*Consumer Comment: Assurant Health ripped me off, but I found out 10 years later
*Consumer Suggestion: Know what you're buying
Assurant Health is a joke! They don't cover anything and you can never get in touch with your 'agent.' They don't cover preventive care, even though my agent said they would. Apparently, you have to wait 12 months....don't go with Assurant Health!!!

This is a lucky consumer, they found out early, it took me 10 years , I had my Assurant Health policy non-renewed and then forced in to an inferior plan that went from one page of exclusions to 8, deductible went from 5500 to 18,700, premium went up 25 percent, all types of healt coverages were modified and then language added "we can cancel this policy with 30 days notice! This, after the made 60,000 profit on me... all with The State Of Illinois approval that has zero consumer protection WATCH OUT !!!

Know what you're buying

It seems that a lot of people don't fully read what they are buying. I'm looking at an Assurant brochure that compares two different policies. One is cheaper than the other. The cheaper one has some limitations the other doesn't. For the cheaper policy, for preventative services, it clearly states "after you have been insured for 12 months". I would assume the actual policy you received would have said the same thing.
You have to pay attention to detail and realize you get what you pay for. I'm sure you had the option to pay more to get better benefits. That was your decision.
