Purchased insurance from them in August. Went to use my prescription drug benefits in November and found out that my medication was excluded. The agent that sold me the policy knew what I took, but sold me a policy that would never cover the medication. When I requested that my coverage be canceled, the representative at Assurant stated that I never should have been sold the plan and that I should have my premiums returned. That was three months ago. I have been back and forth with the company many times, and have received incomplete information and non-answers. I was told that I should keep my "accident coverage" but the argument for that was deceptive.

The reps always sound nice on the phone, but are not helpful.

The last conversation that I had involved a rep blaming me for being stupid enough to believe what I was told by the agent who sold the policy when I made the decision to purchase the coverage.

So, it's okay to be deceptive? Consumer beware? That's some attitude. I'd avoid this company.
