I inititally contacted Patriot Moving for my move from Rockford, Illinois to San Diego, California
They orginially told me that the price would be $1710.00 but because it was Christmas time they would give me a bargain for $1613.00, 25% off. The original price.
Everything was fine, but I had further questions and tried to contact the company several times and never once would anyone help me. My items were picked up from the Storage unit on 12/22/05 from seperate company, which I was not told of intially from Patriot Moving. This company was AY Transport, everything was picked up and taken to a off site warehouse outside of Chicago.
I needed my belonging to be in San Diego on the 1st of January, so I gave them ampple time to get all of my belongings across country. Well on my way to San Diego, I tried to call Patriot Moving, no answer, I then Called AY transport and they told me that my things had not even left Chicago and the driver that they set up could not take my belongings so they would find another person so my things will not be there on the 1st. This conversation took place on the 28th of December.
I called several times after that and actually the lady whom I spoke with seemed to be friendly and understanding, that I had nothing was not told of this type of situation ever by either Patriot or AY and I am sleeping on the floor of my new place. Finally I received a call that my things would not show up until 7-10 more business days.
One my things showed up on the 9th of January they told me that I owed 1798.00, I explained to them while they were outside of my house, not willing to drop any of my belongings until AY receieved payment through Western Union - Quick Collect. What was I supposed to do, I explained to them that I paid Patriot for this and the drivers then explained to me that they never recieved payment from this company and tehy either leave with my belongings or I pay.
So I paid 1798.00 along with the initial payment to Patriot with the Christmas special which ended up being 1613.00. No call ever again from Patriot or AY after this situation.
I want reimbursement, I payed to seperate companies for one job. 1613.00 for Patriot Moving to do nothing, and then Ay said that teh 1613 was never recieved and even if they did recieve the 1613.00 from Patriot Moving, AY Transport needed the entire amount of 1798.00. I have record on my Credit card for Both transaction. Can anyone help this is terrible.

AY raided by FBI / DOT
AUTHOR: Sharon - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, April 20, 2005
The FBI, DOT, IRS, and US Treasury last week raided the San Jose offices of AY Transport/Progressive Van Lines/Midwest Relocation/Premier Moving. They have set up a website for all victims of these companies (in actuality run by the same people, despite separate corporations and license numbers). This website is run by the Department of Transportation's Office of the Inspector General. This is a serious investigation, and they need all comments from victims.
Have your paperwork and driver's license ready and go to:
http://www.oig.dot.gov/ayvictims/
This also concerns people set up by Patriot Moving/National Moving Network.
As for the double charge on the credit card, you need to dispute one of them. I would go for the Patriot Moving charge. Since they did not pass on the money to AY, they did not do their duty, and were in breach of contract. You can prove that the company was paid directly by you. AY will not be caring about their finances for much longer. Hit the one who is still in business, scamming people.
