B & L Recovery & Towing B&L Tire Service, Inc. Recovery Towing and Road Service Did not disclose their price and towed the vehicle without permission. Blackmailed into paying. Carteret New Jersey

On March 27th, around 8:00 PM, our vehicle, 2012 Chevy 3500 14 feet Box van with a gross weight of 7000 lbs, was stalling near Exit 11 on the NJ Turnpike North.  so we pulled into the Thomas Edison Service Area.  Eventually, we called a towing company and B&L Towing was the one assigned to us since we were close to their homebase.  

Our driver asked for the price but was kept in the dark.  They initially showed up with one truck and then said that they needed to bring a bigger truck due to the size of this vehicle.  After about an hour later, they brought a bigger truck and started hooking up our vehicle.  Even now, they still have yet to give us a price nor did we give them permission to hook it up.  

They did it anyways and then once they started to tow it, the driver of the tow truck gave me a number to his dispatcher to call for the price.  We get the price of $900 for 30 mile tow.  I was befuddled.  $900???  We recently had another van towed for $285 for similar miles.  This was highway robbery.  When asked why it was so high, he said that NJ Turnpike takes a cut of $350.  And then their labor and towing is $550 which includes the toll rate from their HQ at exit 12 to exit 11 at 3 axle, exit 11 to exit 16W at 4 axle, and then back exit 16W to exit 12 at 3 axle.

How is NJ Turnpike allowing these deceptive practices still?

I read an article where they were trying to curb these issues and yet it is still happening.

I seriously want to ask NJ Transit if they take a cut of $350 for every tow since that is what was explained to me.

If anyone can give me help, I would greatly appreciate it.
