Where to start... first off, this has been the WORST buying experience I've ever had. My sales person was new and didn't know very many details regarding the vehicles. The sales manager, Chuck Morris, was great, and with his help, we came up with a price/payment schedule that I could manage. This is where my decent experience ended. The finance department was TERRIBLE! I was sent to Don Holden in the finance department the same day as I purchased the vehicle (obviously), and I left there with an agreeable signed contract (04.27.08). I received a call 8 days later telling me that they had a little trouble finding a financer, but they found one for me with lower payments and that I needed to come down to Beaverton Chrysler and sign a new contract for the financer. I set the appointment to do so on Wednesday (05.07.08). I met with a woman named Andrea (not sure of her last name). She told me the details of the new contract, and said that the credit union that I was financing through wouldn't approve me at the amount we were trying to finance so Beaverton Chrysler lowered the price of the vehicle. She also said the credit union would only approve my loan if I acquired extra coverage for the vehicle. This sounded odd to me so I asked why?She said it was because technically the vehicle was their property for the next 7 years, and they wanted to make sure their investment was protected. This seemed to make sense, so I signed the new contract making the original contract void. I received a call from the credit union on Tuesday (05.13.08), saying that they had two different monthly incomes for me and they needed to know which one was correct. At the time this seemed like a mistake, so I didn't worry about it. About a week after I had signed my second contract, my temporary trip permit was about to expire and I still hadn't received my plates.
After several attempts at contacting Beaverton Chrysler without a solid answer, I decided to call the credit union to find out if they had sent a check to the DMV to pay for the plates yet, to which I was told that they were going to deny the loan and send it back to Beaverton Chrysler. They said they were doing this because I had added a bunch of extra coverage which put the total amount being financed over what they approved me for. This shocked me. I told the lady at the credit union that I was told that THEY were the one who REQUIRED the coverage. She said ABSOLUTLEY NOT, and that it was illegal to require someone to purchase the extra coverage. So now that I was told something that was illegal, I decided to inquire deeper about the two incomes that they had received. The lady at the credit union said that my income was listed as one amount and then it was crossed out and changed to reflect an extra $600 a month.also very ILLEGAL!!! After hearing all of this I went to Beaverton Chrysler and requested some answers, and of course, they denied any of this happening. I asked for them to show me the tapes that they record when signing a contract, and coincidently they didnt record my signing. So by now its been three and a half weeks later and I still didnt have a contract, I was lied too, and my income had been changed to try and push the loan through to the credit union. On top of all this, Beaverton Chrysler had been ruining my credit for the past 25 days, running my credit through 15 different companies instead of showing them a credit report. There's even a time where they ran my credit through the same financial institution 2 days apart on 2 different inquiries on my credit this is uncalled for.
Since then, I have signed a new contract with a credit union and my license plate issue seems to be coming to an end, but I am still very angry about this entire ordeal to matters worse, I have already had to have my ignition module replaced at 1000 miles. I am VERY unsatisfied with the way Beaverton Chrysler does business. They were very unprofessional. They committed illegal acts while trying to finance me, and they were very rude when I brought up the concerns I had. Needless to say....I'm very unhappy!
