Berkley Financial - Michael Graham, Steven Boyd, Cheryl Thompson requested first 3 months up front for a personal loan took our money never mailed check Philadelphia Pennsylvania

We applied for a personal loan in the amount of $15000.00 using an online application to Berkley Financial. A representative by the name of Steven Boyd called us back and told us he found a private lender. He told us they required the first 3 months upfront equaling $1080.00. He told us to MoneyGram it to Cheryl Thompson in Lakeview, Ontario, Canada and we would receive the check via FedEx within 24 hours after comfirmation of payment. Michael Graham called us the following day and told us the lender was not comfortable releasing the check with the amount of money sent and that he was requesting another 3 months ($1080.00). We requested a refund and was told we would get our money back in 2 weeks coinciding with the lenders billing schedule. We asked him if we could get something in writing stating that we would not be asked to pay additional money after this money was received. He faxed that over to us within 10 minutes. Since we had bills due and could not afford to pay them without the loan money we borrowed the additional $1080.00 and sent it via MoneyGram to the same person. We were told we would receive the check Friday afternoon, Saturday at the absolute latest. (This was on a Thursday). We called him back on Tuesday (Monday was a holiday) and he said he wasn't sure why we hadn't received the check and he would check with accounting. We called back a few hours later and were told that the lender pulled out of the deal.
