Today was again another unfortunate experience. It started in '08 when I bought my 328i. I knew what I wanted when I walked in the door - at 5pm. I called beforehand, (I buy a lot of cars, I know the drill) asked if any of the models equivalent to the model offered in the leasing special were available, and was advised they had "several". An appointment was set for 5pm.
We arrived on time. We were greeted by some woman from the marketing department. She went through some sales pitch, and 30 minutes later we were still waiting for a salesman. I was ready to leave when he finally arrived.
Pablo was professional, curteous, and to the point. He's the only reason I stayed. I told him what I was looking for, and naturally I was led to the 500's, a larger engine, etc. Ended up it was because they didn't have the car I wanted. SHOCKER! We spent an hour driving around Riverside to their "overflow" lots, and they didn't have a single one. (Come to think of it, wouldn't they have just been capable of looking at a list of inventory instead of making us drive around all night?)
After a good hour, I was advised they had a car with 600 miles on it they could sell at the price-point I was looking for, and that it qualified for their lease special. Wa-h*o! So the back/forth began with pricing. Seeing as my husband had 10+ years experience as a car salesman, we knew what to look for. (Their lease specials forget to advise that there is close to $4,000 in tax, title and license fees you have to cough-up, albeit I was prepared. Look for the fine print!)
So round and round we went. After putting $4,500 down on my base 328i, my payment was $550/month. Were they nuts? I BOUGHT a Hummer for $41,000, paying less than that a month, with $800 down vs. $4,500 down, and this was a lease? Insanity! So I got up to leave - I didn't want to play the games. Then came the, "So what price were you looking to pay?" After 30 more minutes, my payment magically reduced to $430/month. What a joke! Come to find out my payment should have been about $60 less a month because of the large down-payment I made.
So I'm ready to sign on the dotted line. I'm ready to walk out the door with my new car. You know how it is... The feeling of instant gratification. You part with 4K+, you want your baby NOW! Then WHOOAAA... Here it comes! So after I sign on the dotted line, it ends up the car I want to lease can't be leased. Apparently it has too many miles. Huh?
So magically, (and I mean MAGICALLY) it ends up they have a car just like it being delivered the next day. Isn't it ironic no one knew this HOURS ago, when I was told repeatedly they didn't have the car I was looking for and should just buy a more expensive one? I'm told they will deliver it and everything. So I buy. It's now after 9pm.
My car gets delivered the next day. Lo and behold, it doesn't have the options I purchased. It's not the car I bought. No bluetooth - being my biggest concern. Did they think I wouldn't notice? I had to hire an attorney to get the car I paid for, and threatened non-payment for breach of contract. I had to threaten putting a stop-payment on my $4000+ down-payment check. (That worked, by the way.) Only THEN, (3 days later) did they agree to send someone out to install a seperate unit, because doing it factor would "cost too much", and they'd "lose money on the car". That's my problem HOW? These people were violent and VILE! And ironically, the finance manager played stupid, alleging this was never an option on the car, however I had a 30 minute conversation with him that night about his wife, her car, and how that was her favorite feature.
It never ends. Today I got a flat, and Rebecca from service said it was covered under 50K miles, NO FEE, only to get it towed there and find out it's $213.84. I called to advise what had transpired, and Ted, the Service Manager, insisted the conversation didn't occur. After repeating in verbatum, (seeing as this woman had this SAME conversation with my husband and his assistanct) he finally apologized profusely, being "embarassed". He promised to make it up to me, begging for another opportunity to rectify things. So I hung-up to realize my car was 14 miles across town with a flat, and asked that they return it. But of course the kind words turned into verbal abuse, and now it's "MY PROBLEM".
I even called BMW North America to file a complaint with a "Brandon". He called their dealership personally from headquarters to ask that they return the car and they refused. Apparently BMW of NA doesn't care about the service being provided to their drivers either. Moral? Their mistakes = YOUR problem!
Stay away if you're smart! This will be a never-ending nightmare for you.

To whomever the moron was that implied ANYONE asks to get "ripped off"... You need to check yourself into the nearest mental facility. Quickly! But my assumption is that you are likely an hourly/salary employee of BMW Riverside, sitting behind a desk somewhere trolling the internet waiting for a negative post to pop-up somewhere so you can instantly make some lame attempt to defend this horrendous place you call a business!!! (Case and point... look at how quickly the rebuttal came in lieu of when my original post was made!)
I don't care if my husband had a 100+ years of experience as a car salesman. Every dealership plays their own game. It still means we all need to drive a car, and we're all going to have to play the game SOMEWHERE. You can hope that you don't have to, but everyone tries to screw you... sadly enough. Albeit this place takes the cake!
You want an in-depth description of 'violence'? I didn't want to COMPLETELY defame this place, but since you asked for it, I'd be more than glad to go into detail.
So BMW Riverside delivers the wrong car to me, at my WORK. Naturally I don't have a lot of time to go through their 3 hour presentation, so I'm pressed for time. I'm elated to finally have the car and go over the specifics. I naturally notice immediately that it doesn't have Bluetooth, and instantly point it out. They pull this scam that since it was "delivered" to my work, that means I ACCEPTED delivery. (Verses going to the dealership and declining acceptance???) Ummmm.... NOOO!
So Pablo says, "No worries". He promises he'll take care of it. He tells me to stop by the dealership on my way home.
So I do as instructed, to spend 2 hours sitting in the lobby, being verbally berated by 3 fat burly men, all telling me this is the car I bought. NO IT WASN'T. I've got the freakin' purchase contract and I know what it says! Granted, the car had bluetooth installed on it, but it wasn't operable! Apparently all of the models have it installed, but they don't all work. They tell me putting the option on the car just won't happen - it's too expensive.
I'm told straight to my face I'm basically an idiot and I have no clue what car I bought, albeit I point out the demo they have on the lot has it as an option, and THAT was the car I had signed for the evening earlier. They allege that it wasn't the car I agreed to AFTER the fact though. (C'mon, I specifically asked if I was getting the SAME car!) Why would I agree to a different car?
I ended up basically getting thrown out of the dealership by 3 grown men. The next day I had to call my attorney. I called BMW of NA, who was no help. I got the Manager on the phone that I spoke with the night I bought the car, (some fat grey-haired guy) who was verbally abusive and told me go to "go to hell" and hung up on me. (Not kidding!) He played stupid, alleging he had no recollection of our discussion about the car and the options on wanted. (How convenient.)
So I came up with the bright idea to call the GM and tell him I was putting a stop payment on the check for my down-payment and was suing him for breach of contract, as well as the costs for a rental car. He didn't like that very much and said he'd "find me and come get the car his d**n self." (I just loved their choice of words.) I told him it would be a lot easier to just give me a car with bluetooth in it.
Once going round and round and him saying a different car would cost too much he finally came up with the idea to just hire a company to install a non-factory bluetooth, (I travel a lot for work and with the new CA law, I really needed it) we finally came to an agreement.
So yes... I call threatening me and verbally abusing me being violent.
And I don't think ANYONE 'asks' for being screwed over or ripped off. I think a head check is in order.

This is most likley the story of most people that enter the show room of bmw Riverside,
It was my experience that it is the policy of bmw Riverside to willfully lie and mislead the consumer in anyway possible.
As previously mentioned just walk out or better yet shop at a reputable dealer, one of witch bmw Riverside is not

You know the "game" by your own admission of your husbands "10+ years experience as a car salesman". Had you really been disgusted with how they were treating you, there were several opportunities for you to "get up and leave"..and MEAN IT.
By the way you claim that they are "violent". Where in this report did they get violent?
If there is any RipOff, you let them do it to you.
