Brent Johns took a video I created for a company and claimed that his company produced it. There were three other videos in his portfolio that belonged to two individuals I now personally.

That is just the start of it.

After finding out that he took credit for my work, I started some investigative work on his website. His "President of North America", Ryan Latchman, does not exist; nor does his "President of International", Steven Chen. The pictures he used for these two people where istock photos! He claimed that the two people existed and that they were not istock photos. He removed the photos within an hour of confronting him on these lies.

He claims that he has 52 offices. I contacted two individuals that had their company facebook profiles linked from his site to theirs. They never heard of him! He made it up, all of it. They were upset when I contacted them and gave out his cell number so he could remove the links.

I encourage you to do a background check on his "education" as well.

From his website:

  • BA English University of Washington
  • BS Psychology University of Washington
  • MBA Boise State University
  • BA Graphic Design Full Sail University
  • BS Web Design & Development Full Sail University
  • MS Media Design Full Sail University
  • MS Internet Marketing Full Sail University

A few of these checked out and a bunch did not, don't waste your time like I did.

His web development skills are below average and he uses other's work in his resume.

Brent Johns is a SCAM

AUTHOR: Anon - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 22, 2016

The previous post naming Brent Johns as a scam is correct. Johns posted a rebuttal saying the person was a disgruntled ex-employee but I also experienced everything written about Brent Johns as true. I worked for a company that hired Brent Johns and his so-called company PXL Media Studios. He collected $12,000 before we caught on that he was a scam. He produced absolutely no work, nothing at all. He showed up to film two media interviews and sound bytes and never produced an edited version, never managed our social media, inserted an ad into our blog feed advertising his company, wrote a fake testimonial from our business owner praising his work and stated that the business had taken off as a result of working with Johns and his company. When confronted, he stopped returning our calls and never returned our video material or the $500 hard drive it was on. When I researched him online (as should have been done BEFORE hiring him) I found that the videos on his websites and social media were all STOLEN. He took other peoples videos, removed their credits and inserted his own company credits and promoted the videos as his own.  This is a bad guy - stay far far away from him.

Brent Johns is a Fraud - Facts

AUTHOR: HopeH - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 04, 2015

Brent Johns, Tammy Johns, and anyone else associated with this team is a liar and a fraud.

I know because the content he has stolen is our content, which can easily be found on our website and social channels at Lemonlight Media.

We have caught him stealing our content and rebranding it as his own - first with his company, IOSFx and now with his new company, PXL Media Studios. I assume there are others as well.

He has stolen the copy from our website, including our core values, and stolen more than 50 videos and claimed them as his own. He has pushed those videos through each of his social channels as well. It appears he has also stolen other works becasue I doubt he has ever made a commercial for Polaris or National Car Company.

This may be a disgrunted ex-employee who left this message, but as the owner of the business he continues to rip off, I can assure you, it's accurate.

Hard not to laugh

This guy is super dangerous and I actually feel sorry for him.

I am not the first person that has written a rippoff report on Brent Johns. And, my story is pretty similar to other reports you will read about him.

The Pavati Wakeboarding video on his website (IOSFX) right now was shot and edited by a guy named Lucas. All the Highway Products and Pavati websites that he is claiming on his website (IOSFX) was developed by a guy named Sebastian. Lucas is trying to get the video removed, but Brent is fighting him on it. Sebastian is trying to get the websites removed, but Brent is fighting him on it. Brent did remove all of his "Lindsey Stirling" videos from IOSFX (still has one on IOSFX YouTube) because I contacted the creators and they made him remove them.

I encourage you to call his former employer (Highway Products / Pavati Boats) before getting into any contract.

JOE D IS A (((REDACTED))) DISGRUNTLED EX-EMPLOYEE

AUTHOR: bjohns - ()

POSTED: Friday, February 13, 2015

To be perfectly honest with you, I'm not exactly sure what the problem with Joe D actually is. First of all, he has never had anything to do with any of my partners or our sister companies that fall under the umbrella of iOSfx. My only interaction with him was through Highway Products, Pavati and Pavati Marine where I am the Director of Web Development & Marketing.

Joe apparently used to work there as a less than average photographer/videographer who kind of attempted some marketing. His separation from there was less than pleasant after a blow up with owner Gene Gros where Gene gave Joe $5500 for some photography equipment that he "claims" was stolen out of his garage. Read more about that "story" below.

As the story goes, told to me from Joe and colaborated from Gene and his son Chuck, Joe thought someone had been following him for about 3 days, which probably resulted from (((REDACTED)). Upon Joe's arrival at his home at (((redacted))), Oregon (((redacted))), he drove into his garage, unloaded what he claims was $12,000 worth of camera equipment and when all of a sudden he realized that he had to go to the bathroom, he set it all down on the floor in the center of his garage, leaving the garage door wide open...keeping in mind that he thought someone was following him. So he promptly went inside to go to the bathroom and claims that he was in there for no more than 3 minutes, and when he came out, all of the equipment was gone. He tried to make a claim on his homeowners insurance but they denied his claim. Gene felt bad for him and gave Joe the $5500 to replace his equipment, which was actually what the equipment was worth. Joe never as much as said thank you to Gene, but instead took the money and ran, going to work for another marketing company that didn't turn out well for Joe either. After a couple of months there, he was fired and so Joe started his own "photography/videography" company.

After repeated attempts at trying to woo Gene's son Chuck into letting him do some photography/videography work for Highway Products because his wife was pregnant and really needed the work and some money, Chuck hesitantly agreed to allow him to talk to me about doing some stuff for us. Chuck and I agreed to allow him to do two videos as a trial run. I gave Joe a simple 5 minute task which turned into a 5 hour ordeal of me having to train Joe on how to use video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro). He had no idea how to use it and said that it was because he was using a Mac, which means that he didn't realize that you could use Adobe products on a Mac...which ultimately means that he has absolutely no idea of what he's doing.

Fast forward a week later...Joe was asking a lot of questions about Highway Products. He wanted to know where we were advertising and how much money we were spending and how much money we were making and how much traffic our website was getting, all of which was none of his business as a "temporary independent contractor". I was getting pretty concerned about his attitude and after having not seen any completed work other than what should have been a 5 minute edited job cutting out two 5 second parts between segments in a week, I asked Joe what he had gotten accomplished. That's when he absolutely flipped out on me. He got so enranged that I finally asked him to get his stuff and leave. After an hour of him pacing around going back and forth from out in the parking lot and back into the office several times, each time not taking his equipment with him, I finally told him that if he didn't leave that I was going to have to call the police to have him removed.

He billed Highway Products $1500, of which they paid just to get him to go away, for 1 edited video (of which he didn't shoot the video, just put a few segments together...poorly at that), 9 pictures (with poor quality and a horrible photoshop job) and a few pieces of video not edited that I actually took using his camera. He claims that he spent 41 hours doing that. Anyone who knows what they were doing could have done a much better job in about an hour or so for everything that he did.

Joe is very disgruntled and has absolutely gone off the deep end. He has sent me very threatening and disturbing emails, as well as now we have realied that he stole some equipment from Highway Products during his brief time here. Like I said, he has had no interaction with my freelance company or any of my partners, yet now he is making false accusations about me, my company, and my education. I have received phone calls and emails from several of my clients stating that he has contacted them and is bad mouthing me in a very strange and incomprehensible manner. Some of these clients I have had for  nearly a decade, some of which are close personal friends of mine.

There is now a Cease and Desist Order as well as a pending lawsuit against Joe D for this damaging behavior. If you have any questions or would like to verify any of what I am explaining in this rebuttal to these false accusations, feel free to contact me, or even better, contact Gene Gros or Chuck Gros, the owners of Highway Products, Pavati and Pavati Marine. They can verify exactly what is contained herein.
