My story is much like the others about Brewer-Caldwell. Professional up front, lots of promises and commits. The bottom line is the promises were broken and the commits never fulfilled.

I paid BC $900 upfront to find me a renter and manage my condo. $600 was the fee for their services and $300 was for any issues that arose that needed to be paid for. This seemed fair at the time.

Right off the bat BC began billing me for pest control. Once I got my 1st bill I contacted my rep and talked to him about this. My condo is a 1 bedroom one the 17th floor of a high rise. We both agreed this service was not needed.

BC however, continued to bill me for pest service. Once again I contacted my rep, only to find out I had a new rep. I went in and talk with the new rep about the pest control and came to the same agreement. He agreed spraying was not needed and he would credit me for the services.

BC did not stop billing me for the pest service, nor did they credit me as promised. This went on for the 6 months I used their company. As a side note in the same 6 months BC never found me a renter.

So 6 months with BC, no renter, more charges, lots of promises, no action. A common theme to all the filings on this site.

To add to the sting of being ripped off by these guys, I went down to my condo just before I canceled their "services" and to my surprise there was no lock box where they said there would be. Now I am wondering how they managed to spray my condo with no key.

No receipts, business cards or anything else was left at the condo proving an exterminator was there. My guess is it was never sprayed. No key to get in, no sign of the exterminator other then bills being sent to my house. Pretty clever set up if I do say so myself.

I could go on and on about Brewer-Caldwell but I will cut this short. The last "service" they provided was to bill me another $55 on top of the $900 I had already paid out for absolutely nothing.

I refused to pay this because I felt that $900 for nothing was plenty. They sent me to collections and the $55 became $80 and a blemish on a pretty good credit record. I just mailed in the check, thank you Ripoff Report for letting me vent.

Please take my advice on this. I fell for the oldest trick in the book. They were the cheapest in terms of their upfront fees. I bit and it cost me about $1000. These guys are worthless, no matter how cheap they are you will never get your moneys worth.
