I lived here for a while under a 1 year lease, and I switched careers and ended up with a job that paid me barely enough to eat. I had to move out, I was told I would just have to pay an extra month's rent ($540) plus a $500 buy-out fee. I was told that I needed to contact the corporate office to make a payment arrangement, and that if I make a payment arrangement and stick to it, everything will be fine.
The payment arrangement making has been completely reasonable, except I was sent a letter saying that I owe them $3,770. They're trying to charge me for rent for the entire rest of the lease, and telling me that the only way it'll change is if someone else moves in, and then I can stop paying rent. Thanks a lot, Briarwood.

It's illegal for these people to charge two people rent for the same property, and someone ended up moving in the month after I left. So I got an updated bill that I only owe them $800....almost the same as if they didn't try to rip me off. Still not happy, but $800 is a lot less than $3000....
