Bright Now Dental Overcharging Bradenton Florida

I have an infected tooth that the Lead Doctor recommended to remove and have a bridge covering 4 to 6 teethes. I asked him how much would be the cost of the crown for each tooth; he referred to a transaction number in my HMO coverage equal to $295.

However when his office Manager presented the quote I noticed two things. First the crown at $295 became $395. The reason given that the office does not use the ones at $295. Afterwards the Lead Doctor told me that he made an error.

The most outrageous was that they added 6 times a non-existent transaction number "0000" to my quote each at $150. The description to this transaction number is “Enhance cosmetic”!! When I asked the office manager what is that, she replied that this is to warrant the job. I told her I have no need for it, as my HMO does not cover it, she replied if you do not agree we will not do the job for you.

This additional charge would increase my cost by $900 for a total of $3,900 for 6 teethes crown.

I contacted their corporate office in California “Smile Brands Group”, they noted my concern and asked their Regional Manager in Florida to contact me. He did and in the conversation he faulted the office manager when saying that the additional cost is to warrant the job.

He added that he will look into it and get back to me. Four days later he advised me that Bright Now Dental would remove the additional cost and to call the office Manager for appointment. I was extremely happy.

Here is the other surprise. I called to take an appointment and as soon as they learned my name the receptionist said the Lead Doctor is booked for months to come and they are ready to book me with their Junior Doctor. I called back and asked for an appointment with the Lead Doctor, another receptionist told me that I have an appointment already with the junior Doctor. However I insisted to have the appointment with the Lead Doctor. She replied that he is booked for the next 2 months; I replied that I would take an appointment after 2 months. She replied, " I will get back to you". No one called me back, so I called again and this time they gave my call to the office Manager who told me that the Lead Doctor is not comfortable doing the job without the additional custom enhancement and that they booked me with their Junior Doctor. I said I didn't come for Bright now dental, I came to be treated by the Lead Doctor. [I did google him and he has high rating]. 

The office manager told me that they have no problems with other patients. I replied because they don't check their insurance coverage. She replied: "You are questioning my integrity". I confirmed that I am questioning her integrity!

She replied that she has to end the conversation and the Regional Manager will call me upon returning from his trip to Texas.

The above rendered my insurance coverage to be totally useless.

Be aware, have always a clear quote and compare it with your insurance coverage.
