We had a major hot water line rupture in our home.  Insurance company was called, a contract was tendered, we had two bids.  One from a reputible company and one from ServiceMaster.  ServiceMaster was the lowest so the insurance company chose to use them.  This is where the nightmare started.

- The fairly simply, 1 week restoration took them over 3 mos to complete. 
- They "forgot" to do tasks such as remove and replace most damaged door casings, replace rusted plumbing fixtures, remove/replace staircase risers, all paint applications were spray finished and they used a roller
- They used drywall filler for applications pertaining to wood
- They quoted for repairations, for instance cleaning of a concrete slab stained with water, but never did, another was a remove/replace of a staircase component which at the time they must have realized they quoted way too low to complete the job or just didn't care to complete it, many more can be listed
- Their idea of refinishing sealed wood is spraying it with some solvent then taking steelwool too it, it always makes the wood finish different and the sealant comes off with their harsh use of chemicals and misuse of steel-wool
- They brought another company in to service the geo thermal unit called "Service Plus" ( sounds too closely too be affiliated ) which said they "serviced" our furnace unit.  Their service caused more problems and we had to urgently bring in a more experienced service company to fix their problems, once again out of our own pocket.
- To finally top it all off, they didn't even match the paint on the baseboards and door casings 100% and there is a visible difference, they blame this on another company doing work at the same time as usual

- They blamed us for NOT finishing the wood before, not allowing access ( there was a lock box outside 100 % of the time )

Offcourse we as the home owner were blamed for these problems because we have no idea what the word "restoration" means and it's their job to bring it back to the previous state it was in.  Their kept insisting the previous state was X,Y,Z when we know what we paid for and what was done when we built the house.

We ended up having so many troubles with them as they still insisted the work was completed we just paid out of our own pockets and cut our losses with Greg Buffel & ServiceMaster Kamloops.  The insurance company was helpful in getting them to fix many of our above complaints but they still haven't done everything 100%. 

I would never use them again and would never recommend anyone else use them.
