Burgdorff ERA Realestate, Theresa Peters, Carol Lee Jones ripoff to employees unethical personnell Newark Parsippany New Jersey

My husband and I live in California. We have a 4 unit apartment building in Newark. Since we started our own publishing business and put forth all that we had into it, we decided it would be best to sell the property. It was so hard to manage the property being 3,000 miles away.

We contact Burgdorff through the internet. A realty associate contacted us right away. Theresa Petersreally projected knowledge and confidence. She went and toured the property and got back to us right away with the news that we could sell it quickly with no problem. She listed the property and we had 7 offers right away. This was in October 2002. We chose the prospective Buyer from the offers on the table. Since then, it was all down hill. We heard from her every week for a couple of months that "just hang on! we are going to close next week" In the meantime, we hired a real estate lawyer (one that Theresa recommended) and gave her power of attorney so we would not have to fly to New Jersey.

To make a long story short. It is now May, 2003 and we have not sold the property, Theresa never updated us, we had to constantly call and everytime we did get her, which was seldom, she had a different story. Upon speaking with the lawyer, who is Theresa's friend by the way, the lawyer even called Theresa a w***e. This is the most bizarre situation we have ever been through when it comes to business. In the meantime, we had to send money for repairs, the appraiser, the Certificate of Occupancy.

Now because there was no effort put forth in selling our property, we have to file Chapter 13 to keep it from foreclosing, and so we can reorganize.

Burdorff Realty and Theresa Peters failed as an ethical business, and has failed in the name of women! I always supported women in business and now I am tainted. The president of this company is also a woman.

This company is unethical, unprofessional, and should be closed for fraudulent behavior.
