I have experience the same process as others that have been reported about this company. Access Travel Network contacted me in January 2013 to activate 4 extra bonus weeks that I have available through my timeshare membership with RCI. They charged me over $500 to activate these weeks and guaranteed (by contract and verbally) that my weeks would be rented for $1,500/week within 6 months. I contact Access Travel repeatly throughout the 7 months and always receive a representative that would check their system for a status of my weeks. My last correspondence with them indicated that my original representative had left the company and had not been advertising my weeks correctly, which caused them not to be rented by a major corporation within the 6 month time period. She gave me her name, emailed me, and indicated she would be taking over my account and would be my point of contact going forward. I went to the website for the company and saw that there was an indication in RED that the company was no longer accepting new clients.

I assumed that they had been put out of business and I had been scammed. I received a call last week from Robert Mitchell indicated that he was with Business Travel Network, that Access Travel was shut down by the State of Florida, and that his firm had been hired to take over the rental of my vacation weeks. He went through all of the details of my account as was originally provided to Access Travel. I did not have to provide any personal information, he had it all available. He knew how many weeks, how much I had paid, when I had called Access, etc.

He indicated that the resort that was associated with my weeks rental was Wyndam resort, in which I am not a member, and that because of this error by Access Travel my weeks had never been rented or able to be processed. He said he had 5 companies interested over the last 7 months, but that he could never verify my membership information. He told me he would correct this in the system and work on getting my weeks rented at no additional change. He reassured me that I had not been scammed, but that the company was shut down for tax reasons and he was going to help me get my weeks rented.

I received a call from Robert again today, 8/20/13, indicated that legal paperwork was never filed when I purchased my timeshare that would allow me to rent my bonus weeks. He said that this was at the fault of the resort that I bought through and not Access Travel. He indicated he would file the required paperwork for me for a cost of $1341. He also said that he would activate at no additional cost the remaining 8 weeks of my 12 weeks allowed per year. He said he would have all 12 weeks rented by early October. I explained to him that I already felt scammed by Access Travel and wanted to review the paperwork and information in writting before I made a decision. He e-mailed me a link to his website and a generic overview of our conversation, asking that I get back with him this week or he would have to remove my weeks from his inventory. I am obviously not planning on calling him back or giving the additional money. I have submitted a claim with the Better Business Bureau hoping that they will investigate this man and both companes.
