after numerous evening calls, i spoke with a representative that assured me a decent settlement amount, for yes i did the evil deed of closing my account( extremely overpriced i must say)early with the institution known as sprint.now after i had a small amount of money in my account, i only use the bank as a form of record that i can access should the need arise, i broke (literally) down and paid the amount in full,$159.99. the rep assured me once again that this account would be reported to the proper credit agencies and i would receive written proof that the account was paid and closed... not to this date. having my banking online acessible is a wonder i must say, as i was charged for the asmount twice with two weeks between charges. when confronted, i was given the runaround being handed over to several "managers", after nearly a week they finally admitted to the mistake( after numerous faxes sent by my bank and several negative balance charges)although, they would have to send me a check, that was so easilly removed from my account electronically... to this day i have not been refunded nor have they made any form of apology for this obvious infringement, to which i say, thank you ever so much and i hope that someday i can do the same for you, calvary portfolio services llc

#2 Consumer Suggestion

Also having a problem with this company

AUTHOR: Grant - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 14, 2006

Calvary is trying to get money from my wife. My wife got sprint service. I already had sprint. The same day she got her phone we switched plans. We didn't cancel. At first Sprint was charging us a cancelation fee. We disputed this. Finally they sent the account to Calvary. I contacted Sprint and cleared everything up. They said my wife's account was up to date. Calvary would periodically send notices. This company thinks they are getting money from my wife. They are not. My wife's credit has not been harmed.

Louis, RULE #1 when dealing with debt collectors like Calvary

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 13, 2006

Louis,

Rule #1 is to NEVER speak to ANY debt collector on the phone. It will never do anything positive for you and will almost always make things worse.

Rule #2 is to NEVER give any debt collector ANY personal, employement, or banking information.

Rule #3 is to just ignore all debt collectors. Only respond to a summons, and nothing else. Very few will actually sue you. The rest are just wasting your time and their own.

Good luck getting your money back. File a dispute with your bank and claim the debit was unauthorized. This will force them to produce the tape where they recorded your conversation, then you can get them for larceny for the additional money taken without your consent. You can put a collector in jail on a felony charge.

Don't get mad. Get even.
