Same old story for us as well. Mr. Privette has over $1200 of our money and my daughter is sleeping on a mattress on the floor.

I called the 910-575-0194 phone number and spoke to a male who identified himself as Ray. I am absolutely certain it was Mr. Privette because he has called us twice about our furniture being delayed "due to the tough times" he is experiencing. Of course he denied it and referred me to call the phone number listed on my sales contract.

Can anyone post the name of an North Carolina attorney they have used to successfully obtain a refund? I have contacted an attorney in Tampa and she is beginning the process but I would like to give her a name of someone who has been through this already.

Thanks for your help and good luck to all.

File Law Suit for Refund from Carolina Furniture

AUTHOR: William - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, April 07, 2003

We have now retained an attorney for refund of the payments made to Carolina Furniture and H.R. Privette. The attorney has given him 30 days to refund our $1234.00 or he will face our civil suit. We will also forward any information regarding our request for a refund and his response to the FBI agent who is investigating this situation.

We also have contacted the president of Lexington Industries regarding this situation. He forwarded my letter to his attorney for a "so sorry, but we can't help" response. It's interesting that all these large manufacturers seem to be aware of Mr. Privette's actions but take no action to prevent further consumer losses. I guess it's because the manufacturers continue to sell more furniture to Mr. Privette (through his intermediary authorized distributors) and continue to profit regardless of my loss.

Our next step is to contact some of the national news shows as another posting has suggested. Good luck to everyone else out there in this terrible boat.
