1) These types of "get you out of timeshare" business models are a Fraud Scam from the first word to the last (which is bye-bye to your money).
2) This is contract law and the scammers are trying to interfere with a settled body of law.
3) You will never see the return of your fee money for non-performance. Thes scammers will likely fold the company into a less soiled company so refund discussions are directed to the defunct operation.
4) They are likely "cross-selling" your contact information to "Sucker Data Aggregators" monitored by fraudsters and near crime syndicates who prey on folks in a bind.
Contact the resort legal department and negotiate with the resort to process the RELEASE as a complete Quit Claim Deed.
Again, use your dollars to leverage out of the resort, not to enrich additional thieves preying on your naivete.
