I received a call in april of 2005 from an online school with the greatest deal in the world. The offer was $3500.00 for 1 years access online and I would receive within that year a + certification(3-4 weeks), mcse certification(2 months) and cisco certification(9 months to complete). From what I was told the a+ certificate would land me a job in no time making between 50k-60k per year. Coupled with mcse I would be more marketable making up to 72k. To an unemployed person this sounds tremendous.

The decision had to be made right then. The first two weeks I had problems accessing the system, problems with the sound and other issues which were resolved. I approached the month mark and was no where near completion of the first program. I began to realize that this was not as easy as I was made to believe.

I attempted to get some help with one section, and no one could understand why I was having a problem. The frustration began mounting and the doubt got the best of me. I started doing other programs that I knew just to say to myself that I'm not spending this $3500.00 for nothing.

i still have never recieved the most important thing which is a cert blaster. A test that i need to pass in order to take the real certification test. it is now february 22 and i still don't have that now they are telling me it wasn't in my original package and i may need to pay for it.

now the credit people are calling cuz i have missed payments which i haven't. this is all just a big nightmare for me. i am losing my hair and not able to sleep i worked hard to get good credit and to watch these people mess up my name is giving me so much more stress than i really need, actually than anyone person needs.

Please some one help i will be bald in no time soon. all due to stress.

Throughout my bankruptcy, I received weekly calls from these liars, insisting that an $80/hour job awaited me if I took their course.  They "negotiated" a $600 price for the course.  Yeah, just $600.  They even agreed on 12 months, no interest at $50 a month (direct payment, of course - mistake number 2).  After signing their course and software agreement (which contained two little tiny windows of FOUR more pages of clauses in their agreement), I was still hesitant to sign, as I had NO credit, and my job was VERY shaky, thanks to the economic recession.  "Tammy" reassured me that CBT would "work with" me in the event of a financial hardship.

Two months later, after the bankruptcy, business dried up, and I was forced to close the account from which I paid CBT Direct's "tuition" (which was actually a financing contract, even though 4 pages of the agreement could not be printed thanks to their embedding of the additional material within the initial agreement).  I had notified them that I would be unable to make payment, and that the account was closed, which they said that they would note my CBT account, and await news from me that I had improved my situation.

IN THE MEANTIME, CBT DIRECT DENIED ANY ATTEMPTS BY ME TO ACCESS THE COURSE MATERIAL, CUTTING ME OFF FROM ANY ADDITIONAL STUDIES ON THE COURSE I HAD BEEN PAYING FOR.  (I include this statement, because I feel that it bears accentuation, since I did not have access to the uncompleted material, thus eliminating any gain I could have seen from the course material, including CERTIFICATION!)

The following month, I was contacted by CBT because my payment had been denied.  I asked why they had attempted to deduct it from my depleted (and closed) account, and they stated that they HAD to attempt to collect, as past students had lied about accounts being closed, and they had to assure themselves that I was not a liar, despite stating that they would await news from me.  I was curious as to why CBT Direct's past dealings with other students who were unable to pay would prompt such a blatant and disrespectful action, but I was told that it was "none of my business."

30 days later, after losing my car and health coverage due to lack of funds, I received a call from a collection agency asking about the remaining $500 that I supposedly owed CBT Direct.  I was dumbfounded, as I thought I was paying a TUITION, and thought that since I was unable to PAY, that I would just be denied access to the course, just like any other reputable educational institution.  But, alas, I was wrong, because I was dealing with CBT Direct, who does not charge tuition for education, but rather "licensing fees" to their "software" (which I no longer had access to).

Now, many months later, CBT Direct has conveniently used excerpts from my telephone conversations with their representatives to nitpick partial details and twist my own words to use against me with the Better Business Bureau and the New York State Attorney General's Office.  They have conveniently forgotten to mention that in those same recordings is their sales representative insisting that if I sign up and agree to the financing plan, that CBT Direct would work with me in the event of a financial hardship, and would NEVER do ANYTHING that would negatively affect my credit.

They lie.  Straightforward and simply put.  They will say WHATEVER you need to hear to get you to sign the agreement which contains a lot of wording designed to force you to pay, or sacrifice your credit, without regard to your education, welfare, family, or anything other than them getting their money.

Save your money.  Save your credit.  Go elsewhere.  Do NOT work with CBT Direct.  There are MANY more reliable, trustworthy, and caring educational resources out there!

I have been battling this company for 6 months now! as of 06/06/06 yeah gather it is that date. they really out did there selves! I changed bank accounts in Feb with the same bank and got a brand new debit card! everything was going good I thought until that date. I checked my online checking account because I had some items pending. your not going to believe this one! and I am on a fixed income ssi!

this company took it upon thereselves to debit 250.00 yeah 250.00 from my account! in 5/50 payments! I canceled the card with the bank. i have so much dirt on them!

I spent 90% of today arguing in emails back and fourth with 2 different people in there company. I asked them directly to send me the document wher I gave them permission to have access of this new account! and I also asked them about bankruptcy laws. that was my last email too them as of 5PM California time. I have heard nothing back from them cowards! this will stop! I called my bankruptcy office for 220 I can re open my case and add them too it! I also opened another account with a totally different bank. and if they get that info they are illegally spying on me! BEAWARE DO NOT SIGN UP FOR ANY OF THERE FREE s**t! THAT IS WHERE THE HOOK LINE AND SINK YOU!
we as consumers should get together and just Harrass the hell out of these people! give them some of what they give there so called customers!
do not talk to them on the phone tell them you will not answer to them or hang up on them! email them that way you have it in writting! by oh means do not give them a*s wipes your SSN or any perssonal information where they can track you!

I totally get the CBT online cert computer training courses
they set me up up last year for a 600.00 online course I was paying in payments of 50 a month until Jan of 2006 I stopped paying! Only because I have yet to log into there stupid a*s online course and I have not even been sent instructions on this!

so they got a 150.00 of my money so far I am as of Feb/March 06 two payments behind which is a total of 100. as of last month I supposedally owed 450.00 with no insterest! I am a computer sceince major at my local campus I have 1 class left to finish this summer for my AS Degree. I have took a total of 20 online classes over the course of 3yrs and about 10 telecourses. I am not stupid when it comes to computers! I have a 3.5 GPA! This company in my eyes are Basically STUPID ASSES IN BUSINESS! they know nothing on how to run a business!! its companies like this that put people like us in bad credit reporting risk! so, what I did I have placed a fraud alet on my credit reports for 90 days for free. you can do this. I am also having problems with First Premier Bank major asswholes! they should be hung! since 1999 I have been dealing with this stupid f**ks about there so called credit credit card scam! yeah, if you ever apply for them make d**n sure you are off there mailing list permently! because here is what happened too me back in 1999 I applied for a card to help rebuild my credit after a bad married....

yeah right they help screw your credit over! well then it took me 3 months to convince someone that I did not want the d**n card at all! but they basically forced me to activate it! here is the catch when you get it you automatically receive a bill within 3 or 4 days following the card. saying your first payment of 20 is due by what ever date! that automatically makes you responsible for the card! so there fraudlent on the point that they tell you in the terms of agreement that you can cancel wihin 30 days. bull, because I tried that every time! and still had got stuck activated it!

between 1999- and 2005 I have received a total of 5 cards from them! I only applied for the first one! now I am back with the battle of them asswholes again! my credit limit says on one credit report same account 250.00 and another credit report it says 300 same account they opened it on Oct 2005... I tried my damndist to close the account out within 30 days and they hung up on me! the rudest d**n me on earth!
so I took it to BBB they totally ignored my request from BBB and did some other s**t! I am now 3 months behind on this account I only paid on it twice! just to shut them up! so I had put a invesigatation on my credit report about there accounts! I am not paying that account nor am I apying the CBT!

I filed bankruptcy chapter 7 last May before the new bankruptcy laws kicked in! I wish I would of known this was going to happen with premier I would of added them back then to my case even tho then I did not have a account with them!
Is there anyway these people can be STOPPED?
