Central Credit Services, Bob Michaels Nothing but harassment and headaches Jacksonville Florida

I too have had my fair share of the harassment from Central Credit Services in Jacksonville, FL.

I have an outstanding account that was sold to CCS due to sparadic payments. I was out on medical leave from my job and I do not get paid when I'm out on leave. When CCS first contacted me I made arrangements with the initial person there and we agreed to a $ 150.00 payment each month. I made my payments each month like I was supposed to starting last April (2007) and have continued to do so since then.

In December, I received a few calls from Bob Michaels about payments and that they (CCS) wanted the entire payment all at once. I owed $ 2,700.00 at that time. I explained that I could not make one lump payment and that's why I'm making the $ 150.00 payments montly. I'm on a fixed budget and that's the most I could afford to pay. I was not at any point refusing to pay them but I just couldn't afford the amount they requested. He began harassing me on the phone and telling me that my credit report shows what type of person I am and that I don't pay things on time and such. He was down right nasty to me. The end of December I received another call and again demanding I make the full payment and that's all they would accept.

Again I explained that I wasn't refusing to pay but I have to continue paying the $ 150.00 payments because that's all I could afford. He became extremely nasty to me and harassed me to the point that he told me a lawyer isn't going to help me and that if I couldn't afford to pay more then how could I afford a lawyer and so forth. The call ended basically with me telling him again this is the best I can do and I will continue to make my payments and to do what he had to do.

About a week later (first week of January, 2008) I received a letter saying that "CCS expects a check for the total amount due $ 2,650.00" And that we agreed to this. I did no such thing as to agree to that amount. I responded with a letter back (after speaking to a lawyer briefly), quoting the Fair Debt Collections Act and that I did not wish to be contacted at my work number again and to contact me at home only.

Also, I submitted another letter again, explaining that I did not agree to the complete payoff amount, and then I gave "will mail out dates" for the next 6 months including January and that a payment of $ 150.00 would be sent on these dates.

The harassment and nastiness of the employees at Central Credit Services is completely uncalled for. I did some research and found that Central Credit Services is listed on Better Business Burea of Northeast FL and there are many complaints filed against them.
