I passed the PowerPoint 2016 test on my first try, barely, with a score of 720, with 700 being the threshold for passing: I operate and teach PowerPoint. What I know is that some of the controls to complete the tasks are missing. One example: "crop video" was not located under the video format tab or from right click. There were other controls missing for testing tasks. This company promotes retake vouchers that increase their profits and is manipulating the program so that testers are more likely to fail. The local testing center was New Horizons, in Las Vegas. The administrator, Mark Alvarez, was unable to answer some basic questions as to the length of the test or how to check the OS and software version.

#1 UPDATE Employee
Tests are sound, issues may be with testing center
AUTHOR: Allison - (United States)

Certiport has system requirements to which each test center should adhere in order to ensure the best candidate experience. However, there may be instances where the requirements are not met. Screen resolution, incomplete or partial installation of the application, group policies and other security limitations are some items that can impact what features are available and what the candidate sees in the live application during the exam. For example, screen resolution can impact the ribbon on the Microsoft application, possibly truncating what items the candidate can see.
We create our Live in the Application (LITA) exams in such a way that candidates who know how to complete a task can do so using any correct method. In these exams (e.g. MOS PowerPoint), the candidate is actually working in the application itself and is able to use most of the application’s features. (Exceptions include Help, Tell me what you want to do, Share, New, and Open. None of these application features are needed to complete the exam.) For this reason, the application must be installed on each testing computer and we perform careful testing to ensure that when the exam is run on a properly configured computer, each item can be completed and scored reliably.
We care about our candidates' success and never purposely remove features needed to pass the exam. If a candidate has concerns about functionality during their exam, they can ask the proctor to contact our technical support team so that they can perform a thorough investigation of what the candidate is seeing. In addition, if the candidate has concerns about exam content, a candidate can submit their information for our team to review those concerns.
