Charter Oak Blacktop, Benjamin Kendall, Bob Kendall Asphalt Scam Uncaseville Connecticut

I hired this company to tear up the old driveway and lay a new one in a different configuration. The company claimed to be working up the road on a state job and due to an error could not lay the asphalt that day so they were offering it to locals.

Everything seemed to be going fine and on first look it was fine. When I called the state they had a legal business license so I thought everything was on the up and up. We signed the contract and paid the crew.

The next day we realized that instead of pulling up the old driveway they simply moved dirt onto the edges to hide it. In addition to the this they never laid down a foundation for the new driveway so the driveway started to sink.

I called to complain and they said someone would come out on Monday. No one showed up and now the company refuses to answer the phone. I researched the company a little more in order to take them to court only to find out that he address on the business license is phony.

The license lists Benjamin Kendall as the owner but the name on the business card is Bob Kendall.

The state department of consumer protection closed my complaint on the basis that there was nothing they could do. So I'm guessing this guy is still out scamming people because the state won't pull his license even though the address doesn't exist.
