Chicago Water and FIre Ripe off and scam elmhurst Illinois

Do not hire CHicago Water and Fire.

I had Chicago Water and FIre come out and do an estimate for repairs after our basement flooded.  THey charged me $24k almost to put my basement back together. THey had a very nice project manager come out and explain the process.

The shock came when their "contractor" came and had a written work order. explainng everything that needed to be done.

However he was only being paid $11K fo the work....... thats a $13k difference in what my insurance was paying and what the contractor was being paid.

THe contractor has taken 4-5 weeks to get the job done and we are no where near being finished. The lack of the response from the company is shocking, especially since the insurance company has paid Chicago Water and Fire in full.

Buyer be were, the company breaks the backs of contractors and basically steals, especially since their estimate already have 20% built in for profit and overhead.

Chicago water and Fire, subcontracts the majority of it work and even their own clean up guys wanted me to post a positive review of their clean up and they would pay for my review.....

I wonder how many reviews were paid for by a cash return from the company to the client......I understand I live in chicago but this feels like a pay to play game......

Everyone beware..... make sure you know what is really going on with Chicago Water and Fire...... They claim to have help tens of thouands of people. yet their reviews are barely breaking the double digits.... so a handfull of people took their money to post a review. The rest im sure either told them to shove it or have had a horrible experience as I have........
