Tried out a horse he had advertised.Moved nice, good demeanor.Delivered on Monday and was lame on Wednesday. So bad I called two farriers to check him out. They both told me the exact same thing!I knew I had been taken.
Called Chris and he proceeded to song and dance about it.This horse was so lame I could not think of riding him nor would I ever be able to.I put the horse in a trailer and took him back and put him in his pasture because I knew he would not pick him up like he said he would. He was going to stick me with a horse I could'nt ride
After a few weeks of more song and dance about returning the thousand dollars I had paid I went to court and recieved a judgement.Next step is to file in district court which will give me a lien against him.
He has the very horse he sold me for sale on his website. Only afterwards have I found out what a sleeze and shyster this man is.(His girlfriend too)
I just want a way to warn others about this particular horse dealer. Thanks!!!

Back in court?

Mr White did manage to get the case re-opened and we once again went to court.Guess who did'nt show? HE was the one who instituted the action and he did'nt show! Original judgement declared final. This whole action came about because he sold a horse KNOWING it was lame.Returned the horse to him because he said he would have a vet look at it.NEVER happened. He said he would refund our money. Called me three times to ask for our address.Never paid a dime.We waited over 2 months before going to small claims. He again sold the same horse with the same result(horse was SEVERELY LAME).He refunded.(Would'nt look good to wind up in court again over the SAME horse).Advertised the horse again on his web site as"not 100% sound". I am sure that there are satisfied customers. I never said every deal he makes is a bad one.I stand by my original complaint.....I paid a thousand dollars for a horse to ride(not nurse). He has the horse and my thousand....will never make sense to me. I may not ever get the money but like I said there are legal ways to make sure Mr White never forgets "Stealing my money".If he would pay it back I would go away and NEVER mention his name again.

You may want to do some more research on that. Also, a response like that can raise eyebrows. Anyone who has been reading this that had formed little to no opinion on what they believe the truth may have actually been may now lean a little further towards the other side of the fence due to your own post. *just my opinions*

Definition of Libel-An untruthful statement about a person, published in writing or through broadcast media, that injures the person's reputation or standing in the community. Because libel is a tort (a civil wrong), the injured person can bring a lawsuit against the person who made the false statement. Libel is a form of defamation , as is slander (an untruthful statement that is spoken, but not published in writing or broadcast through the media).

Much to my surprise I recieved a phone call today from a gentleman I do not know.He wanted to know if I had ever bought a horse named Leo from Chris White. I said "why do you ask?" He proceeded to tell me that he just bought a horse from Mr White for his 13 year old daughter. He was assured this was a bombproof horse.(Mr Whites favorite description of just about every horse he sells) It was'nt so he called him and they settled on returning the first bomproof sweetie for another one. Now all of a sudden this horse is so lame he could'nt believe it so he calls his farrier friend from another area to come check him out.In all MY wildest dreams I could'nt believe what I was hearing!!!The farrier friend had SEEN this horse before. That's right folks! It is the exact same horse I bought back in October that I have written about in this report! The farrier was one of the farriers I had come check him out! He gave this gentleman my number and here we are.The gentleman also asked if the horse had any problem eating and I told him he choked easily on his food.....The man could'nt believe it as that is what this horse did. Further proof it is the same horse. This poor horse is sure making Mr White alot of money as he charged him $1000.00 also.We reap what we sow. You now have another person added to the list of rip offs.Your guarentee is useless Mr White. Why would I want another horse from someone who screwed me on the first one? Stay tuned folks...we are back in court soon and if you, Mr White think an incorrect address is going to get you out of this you are sadly mistaken. Should this man come after you I will provide him with all the info he needs to "correctly" file in small claims court.

You need to brush up on the law Mr White. It can be a tangled mess but I intend to follow it every step of the way.Curious that you know about a letter sent to your girlfriends address? It's also a DBA..doing business at.....which is where the transaction took place....which is perfectly legal. As far as anything you can do to stop this?...Check it out....you would have to pay the amount of the judgement to the court IN ORDER TO start the process. Like that is gonna happen. As for your guarentee that was posted AFTER our transaction.Shame on the both of you.How would you be reacting if someone had 1000.00 dollars of yours?

TRADE BACK guarantee still being offered long after ten day policy.

Once again, give us a call if you'd like a replacement horse, those are the terms of our guarantee. This option has been offered repeatedly and we'd be glad to tender it to you yet again. We aren't under obligation to do this at this point but we are attempting to resolve in good faith.
Court docs were filed in a town I don't live in and under an address where I do NOT reside. I never received them, learned of a court proceeding from a (somewhat taunting) email from you.
This customer is still ignoring our offers to honor our guarantee long long after the ten day time frame. We normally do in fact continue to provide good customer support above and beyond our legal obligation to do so.

Chris White WAS home at time of returning horse.I TALKED to him.Court papers filed properly and I have the judgement.......he is busy getting his name off as much as he can so I can't attach it.It won't work. He has no idea the can of worms he opened up when he refused to give me my money back.Mine is'nt the only complaint.I would love to post an update that said he paid the money back but that would be the fair honorable thing to do....ain't gonna happen.

This Buyer Refused A Replacement...Dropped Off Horse With Noone Around...Filed In Court With Wrong Address, Court Docs Never Received

This horse was sold to the buyer with a careful explanation of having previously neglected feet which were trimmed back too sharply and needed more time to grow out. He moved a bit carefully on rocky hard ground and had short feet. We applied corrective shoes to help him get through this grow out period. When they bought him we agreed to stand behind the horse and get them another one if he didn't work out. This trade back policy is clearly stated on our website.
When they called with concerns about the horses soundness we offered to replace him with a comprable horse for their needs with no additional charges which many dealers do. Just a straight trade for another. Within a week or two they would have had a new horse to suit their needs. They said no thanks they liked the one they bought, just wanted him to be sounder.
They dropped him off as stated of their own volition with no one around to re explain their trade option. We invested vet bills and treatment into getting him better as quickly as possible so we could return him to them, believing that was what they wanted. This was voluntary on our part and not required, we were trying to help them have the horse they really wanted, in keeping with our policy of keeping customers happy. Returning cash was never an option, we replace the horse, not the cash, unless there is a previous agreement to the contrary, which would be on paper and clearly stated.
They refused to pick up the horse for a considerable time period. Apparently at some point they decided to attempt to sue for a cash refund. I never received any paperwork for court, which was sent to the address of a farm I was working out of, not to myself. The legal gears are grinding to correct this situation and there will be a new court date where I will have an opportunity to defend my own position and arrive at a reasonable conclusion. I never intended to "rip off" these nice people, just get them the right horse for their needs at a fair price.
We attempted to take care of this customers needs. They made a different choice. I am forced to wonder if the address mix up was intentional to ensure a favorable outcome for them at court.
We have lots of happy customers letters posted on our website at www.whitesequines.com . Feel free to email through that address if you have any questions about this matter.

Poor Communication...Refusal to accept trade back terms.
AUTHOR: Whitesequines - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, March 12, 2009
This horse was sold with a thorough explanation that his feet were previously neglected. He wasn't "lame" but was certainly slow and careful some days and was wearing corrective shoes to help his feet grow out. This once again was explained to the purchaser. This particular purchaser was just looking for a bombproof trail horse who would happily walk all day, which the horse did remarkably well.
When they called with problems we offered to take him back and provide another comprable horse for the same price, no upcharge etc. like some horse dealers do. They said no, they liked him so could we get him checked by our vet and see about getting him more sound. We did so, and kept in touch, offering another horse, which they repeatedly refused. Our trade policy is clearly stated on our website and was explained to them when they bought the horse. We told them if he didn't work out we would replace him. Within a week or two they would have had a horse to suit their needs perfectly, it was their choice to bring him back, which they did when noone was present to again explain the trade policy.
We notified them that we had vetted their horse and had him doing well but they never returned to pick him up.
In summary, they refused what we offered, brought the horse back to us without us there, then refused to come and get him or accept a replacement on numerous occasions. We spent a considerable amount of money to try to get the horse sound when he mostly just needed time to grow hoof, an expense we intended to shoulder ourselves. This was our alternate attempt to get them what they needed when they refused a replacement horse. Then they never picked him up. We tried.
