Citi (Dividend Platinum Select) Credit Card Failed to pay percentage rebate (5%) offered; paid 1% SIOUX FALLS South Dakota

Credit card had not been used in several months. An offer received by mail: Use your card at Department Stores, Wearing Apparel Stores or Electronic Stores within a 90 day period and receive a 5% rebate on purchases. Offer had no limits or restrictions modifying store types in any way. I agreed to use card with those terms

I used card at Micro-Center (a 21 store chain of electronic stores doing over 1 billion dollars per year). Citi paid only a 1% rebate. City claimed, afterward, that this particular merchant had not participated in their offer. Citi absolutely refused to reconsider in spite of the fact that there was no advance notice to me by Citi that this obviously "electronic store" was not included in the offer. The rebate lost was less than $8. Citi's credibility, with me, is now at zero. To prevent any recurrence of any further fraudulent treatment I(we) are closing our credit card accounts with Citi. $8 will definitely not induce me to change my mind.
