Click Energy Paul Forsyth, CFO Dominic Drenan, CEO Refused to pay wages and expenses owed. Collingwood Victoria

I've been working for them for all of 3 weeks. It sounded like a great opportunity. To be an Administrative Assistant to the CFO (Paul Forsyth). I applied and was accepted. I received an Employment Agreement letter from the "Chairman" Dominic Drenen which I signed and returned the same day. That was November 6th, and was supposed to start my 'training' the following day. I was told via the above letter that I was to complete 2 weeks of 'training' from 9am to 5pm at $18.00 per hour, and upon completion of said training, my salary was to increase to $22.00 per hour as well as being covered by the "standard group benefit plans of Aetna and fringe benefits, which will be explained to you." I also received a cheque in the amount of $3,650.00 to purchase office equipment. Sounds wonderful right? WRONG! It was all a lie.

The first day, the 7th of November I was asked to write an article on Office Equipment. I did so and was informed by Mr. Forsyth that my submission was excellent and I was done for the day. After only 3 hours of work? Alright, the so called training was neither difficult nor time consuming, in fact I enjoyed it. While I had hoped for a longer day's work I accepted Mr. Forsyth's decision.

The following day was much the same, task #2 was 3-fold; 1) Answer "What is an administrative budget?" 2) A dissertation on "How to develop Administrative Assistant Skills." 3) Finally, a list of the "Best tips for handling Administrative duties" Again, I was told my submissions were excellent and that I was done for the day. That same afternoon I received a second cheque for $3,650.00 which I questioned Mr. Forsyth about the following day. He informed me that there was a problem with the person issuing the cheques. They were drawn against a closed account! As I had, per instructions already deposited the first cheque, I was now subject to a returned cheque charge from my bank.

Mr. Forsyth, after questioning me about my honesty and integrity, offered me the job of processing their (Click Energy's) cheques. I thought this would be in addition to the Administrative Assistant position. But no, such was not the case. Now, instead of the $720 a week salary for training and the $880 a week position I thought I'd been hired for I was told I'd receive $500 bi-weekly. Which I misunderstood to be $500 per week and I'd be paid every other week. Not exactly what I'd agreed to, however I needed the job. Yet again Mr. Forsyth told me, no, it was $500 every other week! Which is a far cry from what I'd been hired as! I asked if I could just go back to the Administrative Assistant's position and was told the position was filled. Talk about your bait and switch!

Deep breath. I need to go back to work! I have a family to support! A husband in need of cancer treatments! I thought I'd be able to survive for awhile until I could find a job that would actually support my family. I was supposed to have been paid Friday the 24th of November. Click Energy owed me $944.61. Instead of the "moneygram" I was told by Mr Forsyth I'd receive. I got EXCUSES. After multiple emails, and texts on Hangout, he finally contacted me saying "it's not my fault. The woman who handles the funds has a problem with the accounts." This person's name I was told is Simeon Siyanbola. Who also is on LinkedIn. I checked this person's profile. Please check it for yourself, I swear that person looks MALE to me! So all I can think is ANOTHER LIE! On Saturday after much 'bellyaching' on my part Mr. Forsyth relented and sent me $400.00 and promised that I'd receive the $544.61 either Monday or Tuesday at the latest.  Do I have the rest of my wages? No, I just received MORE EXCUSES!

Since Click Energy is in Australia I have very little recourse. However, I am taking steps to see that no one else gets cheated as I have been. I have contacted ZipRecruiter, Startwire, Glassdoor, Indeed and Careerbuilder warning them of the danger this fly-by-night company is. I have also contacted LinkedIn.
