Purchased a Coleman Powermate Product Dec 31, 2007 (from Sam's Club). Product failed Dec 27, 2008. Warranty was for 1 year to original purchaser from date of purchase. Called service center, got automated voice response to go to their website. Went to Powermate.com.

Looked up help for the specific product (single stage air compressor) emailed service center got the response, sorry Coleman powermate out of business, we can't honor their warranty. Gave me a service center number.

I called, waited 30 minutes nice lady says sorry that company is out of business we purchased their stock but not their warranties. We'll sell you a part, gave model number, sorry we don't have those parts.

I haven't tried Sam's Club yet, but will and if they don't help I will up date this complaint to add them.

So I suggest if you want service after the sale, don't buy any products associated with either Coleman Powermate, Coleman brand, or Sanborn manufacturing LLC or you'll get a sorry product and no support.

Coleman Powermate, Sanborn MFG. Division Of MAT Industries, LLC Warranty is not worth the paper it is written on Springfield Minnesota

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 30, 2008

Had several conversations with Tech service at Sanborn-Mfg. Still no good. Won't honor the warranty, so I went to the Sanbor-Mfg. website again and here is what is on the first page:

Coleman Powermate & SANBORN
Coleman Powermate & SANBORN
Coleman Powermate and Sanborn are the same company. To find your model, click on the type of compressor below, portable or stationary. No matter what your model is, we can probably help! If we don't have it,....nobody does!

Coleman/Sanborn is now under the new ownership of MAT.

I would like to say Sam's Club did step up to the "Bat" for me. I took the unit back to them, with all the paper work, and copies of my emails to "Coleman Powermate / Sanborn, with my paid receipt, and they gave me a complete refund. That still doesn't change the fact that Sanborn / Powermate has deceptive advertising on their web page and for that reason the warranty documents with my unit.
