In late February Comcast sent information about the need to get new equipment to keep watching the same channels. On March 5 I called 877 634-4434 and placed an order using their automated system. At the end of the process the voice said the equipment would arrive in 3 to 5 days. It did not. So I called again on March 15 and was told it had not yet left their warehouse because UPS was running behind due to snow. Ashley said she could not tell when it would be shipped or when it would arrive. Concerned that we would not get it before channels start disappearing on March 30 I tried to get more information. After a very long wait I was transferred to Kelley in Lebanon. She said not to worry it would arrive in less than a week.

Another week went by and still nothing.

So I tried to call the local Comcast office on March 22 but again reached someone in Lebanon (Marissa). She said that there was a delay due to high demand. Comcast should have known how many customers they have in the effected area and had enough equipment available before committing to such a major change in service. When I tried to find out if and when the equipment would arrive Marissa said there is now a 7 to 12 day wait. I pointed out  that we had already been waiting longer than 12 days but that didnt seem to matter. I asked if the equipment had been shipped. She put me on hold for about ten minutes then came back and gave me a UPS tracking number and said it was shipped. But when I logged into the UPS tracking site the number was not valid. So we are no closer to a solution than we were on March 4 before I wasted all that time on the phone with a company thats using its telephone technology to insulate it from customers. Its obvious they prefer to spend money on advertising rather than on improving customer service and providing the equipment they are making necessary.

Needless to say we are now looking into alternatives such as (((competitors' names redacted)))

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome. CLICK here to see why Rip-off Report, as a matter of policy, deleted either a phone number, link or e-mail address from this Report. In this case we removed an alleged competitors name
