Companion Life Insurance Company 1st MedSTM, Health Insurance Innovations, Co-ordinated Benefit Plands, LLC Documents not consitent, Insurance Name is not recognized by hospital or dr's office California

A name not known to many, or any.  

I didn't have a chance to double-check when I signed up with this company.  At the time, the agent brought up the Supplemental Coverage idea and I found competitive compared to Cobra.  Plus I needed to be covered while being independent contractor.  I had independent coverage for the first time, for just 4-months on short term and did it without further research.  I didn''t get to use much, but when I made appointments with my doctors' office, none of the names on their documents could match.  Listed on their document are: 1st MedSTM, Companion Life Insurance Company, pre-Certification for Hospital Confinement or Surgery, Co-ordinated Benefit Plans, Health Insurance Innovation, Hiiquotecustomers.com, Kare360, MedSense Guaranteed Association (MSGA),... 

They claimed my PCP was/is/should be in their network, but my PCP can't even match a name or a group ID or the claim address.  The true Companion Life has different PO Box # on the address. They use a different PO Box address, but same zip code as the true Companion Life.  On any popular list of Health Insurance  Companies, I cannot  locate/find/select/populate "1st MedSTM" or "Companion Life".

I don't see the consistency across, from the website to the documents.  I felt this is a illegitimate business, a health insurance scam.  Accidential Supplemental coverage is a waste.  I had the not-expensive coverage for a healthy person but I believe their cost was just a setup, documents or insurance cards are some piece of junk papers.  Watch out consumers while Health Insurance is now deregulated.
