A shady business, DO NOT buy a car here. Competition Motors sold me a 2006 Mini Cooper that Competition Motors bought at an auction on June 13,2014. I purchase car from them on June 23, 2014  for roughly 10K.  Upon my purchase they told me they had done and oil change. After driving my Mini for 2 months I took it for an oil changed and was surprised to find out i had been driving with no water or coolant. After realizing my family needed a bigger car I took the car October 20, 2014 to Car Max, Auto Buy and We Buy Your Car, I was looking to sell it and buy something bigger. To my shock I learned that the car had "Unibody damage announced at auction" and the Mini was only worth 3,500.00. Though the car had a clean car fax, the Unibody damage was easily found by the other company in under five minutes. I was upset  I was sold a car that had known damage and was not notified.  When I brought this to their attention at Competition Motors, they told me that they were unaware of the damage and there was nothing they could do. They wouldn't buy the car back they wouldn't call my debt of 2,300 even. The owner James P Sirucek told he had to make his money some how and though he sold cars he wasn't  rolling in the dough.  When I asked if they looked at the cars before they sold it the sales man Pedro Figueroa told me sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. Who sells a car with frame damage and doesn't give it an inspection to make sure all fluid levels are good? This guy is a crook and has no ethics or morals. After one last ditch attempt to come to an agreement he basically told my husband and I that there was nothing he could do or wanted to do for us.

You asked:   Who sells a car with frame damage and doesn't give it an inspection to make sure all fluid levels are good?

The right question is:  Who buys a car without an independent mechanic's complete pre-purchase inspection?

Car dealers have no fiduciary responsiblity to you or me as consumers. Should they inspect the vehicles and give a comprehensive report? Yes, but they don't.

All those published checklists that dealers love to quote don't specify that any defects found were fixed.  It is a marketing gimmick. The only way to protect yourself in a vehicle purchase is to have a good local mechanic NOT affliated with the dealership in any way inspect the vehicle prior to purchase so you know what you are buying. It also puts you in a much better negotiating position with the dealer because you have a written report of the actual condition of the vehicle at the time of purchase. Naturally, if the condition is so bad, you would walk away rather than negotiate the price.

No, I'm not affliated with this dealer or any other auto dealer. I'm also not defending this dealership at all. I'm just giving you a really good tip on how to protect yourself in a vehicle purchase with any car dealership. They all do this same exact thing - it's on us as consumers to protect ourselves during a vehicle purchase.
