I heard a radio ad regarding an offer to receive $2,000 in grocery coupon vouchers. The ad claimed that the company would be able to gain customer buying information in return. So I called the number advertised 800-303-1477 and got a lady named Sandy representing Consumer Grocery Advantage Program.

So far so good; she explains the offer and how it works; They mail me a package of vouchers; example $20 off meat purchase. I use these vouchers at the register on food as long as its not alcohol, cigarettes or fresh produce without a barcode. I pay them $19.95 to cover shipping etc. and will be able to get that amount refunded by Free Shipping.com as long as I submitted the rebate within 30 days. On the phone Sandy tries to offer up some other "deals" a $25 gift card to Walmart etc., but I declined all other offers.

The package of vouchers was supposed to arrive in 7-10 business days. On day 13 I email customer service because their answering machine said I would receive quicker service. I never receive a response. So on day 18 I call and leave a message because no one answers the call during business hours after being on hold for over 10 minutes. On day 21 (business days) after no response from CGA, I called my credit card and they refunded my money and will persue CGA themselves. Seems like they had no intention of sending anything or answering to any complaints.

I always thought radio ads were legit, but I have found the contrary. CGA's website does not offer this radio scam and other forums I've read have similar scenarios, but some things such as the amount of the vouchers or cost of shipping are slightly different. Bottom Line: Don't bother with Consumer Grocery Advantage in any shape or form.
