Flight No: CO449
Date of travel: 15 Feb 2008
Sector: San Francisco (SFO) to Newark (EWR)
Confirmation #: CEJ8EF
Special Request: Asian Vegetarian Meal (AVML) which was confirmed

First of all, the crew informed me that the meal I had requested was not available and later agreed to serve an alternate meal.

- They served me some other meal (called kosher) with meat in it. Eating meat is totally against my relegious sentiments and in spite of explicit request, I was served the same.

- When I brought this to the attention of the crew, they were very uncourteous and rude. They went to the extend of almost shouting.

_ All they did was to tell me, in a rude and angry tone, to go and complain to whomever I want and threw one comments form at me.

-----------------

When I fly business, I expect a decent level of service and very high level of courtesy from the crew.

This is the worst set of crew I have encountered in my 35 years of flying.

----------------
I was really hurt:

- due to this careless act from Continental Airlines.

- for making me travel on empty stomach for more than eight hours thus aggravating my stomach acidity level and made me suffer

- for hurting my religious sentiments (eating meat)

- due to the rude, arrogant, insensitive and uncourteous behavior of the crew thereby damaged my self respect in front of my colleagues

- for not fulfilling the promise of providing me a Asian Vegetarian Meal

- for not informing me of the unavailability of Asian Vegetarian Meal and failure to provide an alternative meal and

- for not providing me the value for a business class travel

I had written to them many times but there was a point blank refusal from the airline.

Request your help in compensating me for the above.

Thanking you

Sincerely yours,

Hariharan

NOTHING to Eat?

AUTHOR: Karl - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, June 28, 2008

Usually in Business Class there is some sort of salad, dessert, a roll, and the vegetables that come with a meat dish. Didn't they offer to put together something for you to eat? How about the kosher meal without the meat? I'm curious. They also often offer some sort of sandwich in lieu of a hot meal but they certainly could have given you something that didn't involve meat.

8 hours?
From SF to Newark? You either had to change planes somewhere (thereby giving you an oppertunity to get something acceptable to eat) or you had a very strong headwind.

- If you calculate the end to end time its more than 8 hours.

Why do people expect 5 star resturant service on an airplane. Do they fly to get to a destination or for the food.

- I had specifically asked for it while booking my ticket and bought a business class ticket since they 'confirmed' my request. I dont expect a 5 star service but a fullfilment of the commitment made.

It's called a request for a reason. It doesn't have to be granted.

Did they open your mouth and shovel in the food. You weren't made to eat it. You should have brought along something in case the meal you REQUESTED wasn't available.

- Had they not confirmed while booking or while checking in, I would have made alternate arrangements.

Only you can damage your self respect.
- I agree with you. The tone of your mail and the language used reflects that clearly :)
