Coppell Elite Care billed me $1400 for a 5-minute doctor visit with no special testing or treatment. They do not disclose what they are going to bill you in advance. My insurance company of course did not consider this charge to be reasonable, so they covered only $600, leaving me with $800 out-of-pocket. You don't get the bill until about 2 months after the visit. When I complained, their response was, essentially, "you idiot, you should have known that a private emergency room was going to scam you."
They're not even a real emergency room and do not have the full sevices of a hospital. Forget about the positive "recommended" reviews on yelp.com - those people have not received their bills yet. Read the non-recommended reviews to see many reports of similar scam and unscrupulous billing practices. These people are sharks who prey upon the sick.

Your insurance company may be confused and think you went to an urgent care center when you did not. You went to a 24/7 Free-standing Emergency Center. Of course it is going to cost more. Urgent Care centers are mostly staffed by Physicians Assistants (PAs) and CNAs
The FECs are staffed with actual doctors and RNs. As far as saying they can't perform all services an actual hospital ER can, well I don't know that. Do you? Did you ask? My most recent ER visit, they put me in an ambulance and sent me 30 miles away to another hospital ER because THEY couldn't handle it. What that shows is that even hospital ER rooms can have their limitations. Do you have an itemized statement, breaking down the charges? Get one and contact your insurance company. I had a $2,200 bill from an FEC and my insurance paid in full once I talked to them and explained things.
