My GPS wasn't working fast enough on my Avant Samsung phone so I stopped in to see if they could maybe upgrade it. They said they couldn't and offered to sell me a faster more powerful used note 3 phone to get a faster GPS response time.
I paid about $300 with a case for this used "perfectly working" note 3 with a verbal guarantee of 7 days if there was a problem with it. I went back to work driving for Uber only to find out the GPS was not even working. It was really slow and "floating" around like it was lost.
I returned to the store telling the older Indian guy at the counter what it was doing and he said that's not correct because he had tested it and it was working fine. I told him again look it's NOT working fine, it's floating around more lost than I am and my other phone works better than this one.
He wanted me to leave my sim card so he could work with it BUT I was out trying to make a meager living driving for Uber and already lost a lot of time coming in to make this purchase so I needed my sim card. He said there will be a 20% "restocking" fee. The phone was used and he had purchased it from another customer so it made no sense to pay a restocking fee.
It didn't come with a box...a charger...nothing and later I did some research on this model and the GPS inaccuracy was a common problem with it which he should have known about but instead he blamed T-Mobile for the problem. I have since upgraded to the S5 and it DOES work flawlessly with T-Mobile.
After I got upset and used a few choice words about his antics he raised his voice at me and after he calmed it down offered to reduce the fee to 10% which was $35. I had nowhere to go with this conversation so I took the deal then started to complain and he said I had agreed to the 10%. I just left and yelped about it.
I then filed a BBB report but he wouldn't refund my money. In all I lost a couple hours dealing with this problem and lost another $35 on top of it all for a phone that was crap. All I wanted was a full refund nevermind his ineptitude this created the situation because he clearly doesn't know phones and he's the expert.
