I have had a auto loan with cps for 2 years. There was a time when i went through some money problems just like people do so i called cps and asked what they could do for me to help me . I work in the auto business so I know that they can defere payments they were so rude to me they called at least 4 times a day all of the number that i have called my cell, home, work it got so bad that i changed my number and did not give them any of the numbers. They also call all of my refrence luckley most of my refrence have moved and the phone number were not the same but the one that was the same they would keep calling just as they kept call me. I was only 1 month late and i called to see what i could do to get cought up so they were calling and harrising me. When I made the payment i called them to make sure that they recived the payments they were so rude and told me if i was ever late again then would take the car, they must have thought that i was some kind of idodit they can not take your car if you are 1 month late and if you try to work out argment they can not take it so if they are calling you and trying to scare you dont lisien to them, the best thing is my car was totaled and i am looking to get a new one i will never go thurouh cps again and they are one of the banks that want me to finance with them i will never give them a penny of my money ever again. ALL OF THERE EMPLOYEES NEED TO TAKE SOME CUSTOMER SERVICE CLASSES AND LEARN HOW TO TALK TO PEOPLE THEY DONT HAVE TO BE SO RUDE I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH THEM AGAIN AND I TELL EVEYONE I CAN NOT TO DEAL WITH THEM ---

Since you were in the auto business you have some very interesting(and incorrect) beliefs.
If they are the lienholder on your car there is no amount of time they have to wait until they Repo the car. Remember until the loan is paid off it is THEIR car not yours. So they could repo it if you were a day late if they wanted to. There is also no law that says that they can't repo it if you are trying to work out payments.
As to your car being totalled. Hopefully your insurance paid off the loan because just because it was totalled does not mean that you are not responsible for the balance.
