I diced to open a new account with this people over the phone (1-800-CRIKET) they ask my information plus my cell phone information and etc. They charge me $45 monthly fee + $15 activation to be able to open the account, after all this process very quick to be honest the told me to dial *228 in my phone and everything will be done ... here is when the problem start my phone didnt work it couldnt be activate I call them again to see was going on with this, we did all the troubleshoot nothing work so I decide to cancel the account ( at this time 30 minutes after of account opened ) after talk with 6 different people and spend 4 hours in the phone talking with the Customer Service they finally "agree" to give my money back since I never get the service, they told that there was no way to do it over the phone that I have to go to a "Full service store" (Cricket, Mainmore Shopping Center 1209 South Main, Pasadena, TX 77506) 40 minutes away from my house by the way and there they will be able to give the refund ... I drive there right away to get my money and get trough with this.

When I get there the people from the store told me that they dont do refund thats Cricket policy!? Obviously they lie.. In that store I explain everything that happens and they told me that the customer service is not them?? Can you believe that.. And the best chance to get money back from the company is stopping the credit card payment (doing it right now) I Get RIPOFF like I never before.. This company is a joke..

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

It sounds like you bought a USED phone......

AUTHOR: M - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 21, 2007

First of all, I'm sorry to see this happen to you, but I can explain exactly what happened : you bought a USED phone or a phone that has been "flashed" for Cricket's service.

For all NEW phones, Cricket does NOT make you pay the monthly fee + the $15 activation fee upfront. However, for all phones that have been USED, or have been flashed for Cricket's service MUST pay for their first month of service + the $15 activation fee upfront.

As for the stores, they have the final say so of whether you can get a refund for services not used.
