I had a Visa account with Cross Country a few years ago, paid it off, a few months later I received a phone call saying I had a Master Card, I never had one I did have a Visa, I said, the lady said okay, and that was it until later I received a call from a man saying I had a Master Card Account, I explained I had a Visa and paid it off but never had a Master Card, we had words, I said I would have paid off the Master Card before the Visa and left the Visa because it is less than the Master Card, I'm not going to pay off a higher bill and leave a smaller one. I said I am not paying for something I never had, he said" Ms.****** you may not have had one before but you sure got one now.

I hung up on him. Collections begang calling, I would hang up and you know the rest. I contacted Cross Country, to get this taken care of, no help, one person did say that he would take care of it, but I had to fax him some information, yes I faxed the info, but he didn't,they get the information from you so they can updat your files. They had and have no record of me having a Visa, after it was paid off it didn't show up on my credit report, it is suppose to stay on your report for a few years, but it came off aafter it was paid, but the Master Card did, no one at Cross Coutry could see on the computer where I had a Visa, now this has been a few years for the Visa.

The Master Card with the account number they reported was paid off this summer. I contacted Cross Country Monday Nov. 16, 2002 to see why it was on my credit file as an outstanding bill, the lady said I had two Master Cards and now they have changed the Master Card to a visa. this was only yesterday, November 22, 2002 when she told me this. I asked how could I have two Master Cards? she said

I had an application on file, but it wasn't filled out, I said "whay? She wouldn't repeat it, I asked her name, I can't see how the Government and the Law will let them or any company get away with this. They can take your account and put whatever they want and you can't do a thing about it. People are looking at your credit report without you knowing it, they should put a stop to that also.
