I used New Planet Moving & Storage as a moving company from Chicago to Los Angeles, CA.  New Planet Moving & Storage DAMAGED numerous items during the move including priceless antiques.  Their driver acknowledged the damage and even pointed out certain things I missed.  When I brought this to their attention they simply referred me to CSI Claims Service International.

After going online I was confronted with an unbelievable and volumous claims process which I completed.  In December of 2016 I officially filed the claim listing all the damage.  As of today, April 6, 2017 I have yet to hear anything from them CSI Claims Service International dispite 2 telephone calls, 3 email inquiries, etc.  Totally unresponsive and unprofessional.  A total scam and rip-off from my perspective.  Their online status bar still indicates the claim is under review which it has been for close to 4 MONTHS NOW!

It is quite obvious to me both New Planet Moving & Storage and CSI Claims Service International are deliberately stalling in hopes of getting out of paying this claim.  At present I intend to hire an attorney to investigate all legal remedies at my disposal but want everyone thinking about moving to seriously not use New Planet Moving & Storage and/or any carrier that uses CSI Claims Service International.

The customer is confused about CSI

First, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience the customer has endured during the move. It is never our intention that customers will have a less than satisfying experience.

CSI’s role explanation: Claims Service International (CSI) is not an insurance company and the customer’s claim filed is not an insurance claim. CSI is a 3rd party claims company hired by movers nationwide to determine the movers’ legal liability for household goods claims. Any liability for loss, damage, delay, payment of claim, any/all portions of the move or the claim are solely those of the carrier including the payment of claim settlements.

Lengthy Claims Process: The proper review of a claim requires that all key material be provided for a just resolution to be offered. However, the collection of such material can become lengthy due to reasons beyond our control such as: pictures supporting claims, move documentation, crew statements, inspection reports etc. All claims are treated to be equally important and therefore handled in the order they are received. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.

120 Days to Respond: Since this move was an interstate move it is governed by federal regulations which allows up to 120 days for the processing of the claim. We regret the customer is not satisfied with the services they have received and are working diligently to finalize the claim.

We regret the customer found it necessary to post this review, but trust that the above explanation enables them to better understand our position in this matter.
