My report is on the Woodlands Pavillion's parking garage. My boyfriend and I went to a concert in May 2004, we paid $15.00 to park in the parking garage thinking it would be safer then the complimentary parking offered. Well after the concert there was a group of 5 drunk and racist boys behind us walking to our car. They were shouting at anyone of color and saying racist things to me and my boyfriend (we are hispanic). Well I told my boyfriend to ignore it and we would just go, but those guys were parked right next to us. Now mind you these guys were causing a racket from the pavillion all the way to the garage and no security ever came. When we were getting in our car one of the guys threw a beer bottle at out back window causing it to crack. My boyfriend got of the car to get there license plate number and they started getting in his face I to make a long story short they jumped him and me being scared tried to get him back in the car. Well they held him down and made him watch as they threw me down, broke my arm (so bad that I had to have surgery and a metal rod put in, and cracked my ribs. They of course left after that and we waited for help to arrive for 45 min, one guy who had witnessed everything helped to scare they guys away, stayed until the police got there. Now I understand that an actual cop car would have a problem manuvering through the exiting traffic, but the security onsite was on horses. The man that tried to help us sent for help and was told that someone would be there in a min. Well it was 45 min later to be exact. Now I don't know about you, but it really hurts to get your humerus bone broken completly in half and to have to lay there for 45 min for help to arrive is horrible. On top of that when the security got there they called the ambulance so I still had to wait. Neither of us had cell phones and no one else stopped to help. Well when I tried to file the police report with WPD, I found out that the parking garage had no cameras, there was not enough information to make a case because all we had was 3 numbers from the plates and a descriptiona from us and the witness. The WPD closed the case after a couple of weeks. When I called the pavillion to ask if there was any kind of surveillance, the "director" I spoke to wanted me to come down and fill out some "paper work". I told him I couldn't due to the fact that I am right handed and my right arm was useless. He insisted on bringing the "papers" to me. I asked him what it was I had to sign, he said he would get back to me and never did. All in all I suffered and completly broken humerus bone, radial nerve damage, and cracked ribs. My advice to you is park at the Woodlands Mall, it's a little bit of a walk but it's free and they have security cameras.
