It should come as no surprise that this horrendous magazine and it's fraudulent "experts" as writers have been bankrupt multiple times. The so-called food writers(they call themselves critics) know so little about food that they need to bring competing Chefs whenever they attempt a review(a practice used predominantly by their lead dog, Nancy Nichols). Dog she is, as she is about as miserable and desperate for attention as a neglected hound dog lurking the streets for food. To call herself a critic is absolutely pathetic! If by chance you are a female Chef wanting a good review, you will get it as women can do no wrong, regardless as to the fact that they may have no talent, Ms. Nichols will love you!

This magazine has no trade practices, no morals and usually gives kudos only to the people they like. Maybe some day, people will boycott and this magazine can go into the Texas sunset, rejected by its residents for the poor evaluations they dish out without cause or justification. DO NOT HEED ANY ADVICE OR CRITICISM FROM D MAGAZINE!

Their reviews are bought and sold, and rarely do they make valid points, oftentimes facts about the restaurant are wrong as they use their forum to talk s**t about people they don't like or do not give them preferential treatment when they dine, or ask for something for free, or yet-advertise with them.

If you want advice on where or what to do, use Texas Monthly or cravedfw for your information. Otherwise, if you want to know who likes to buy their reviews from pathetic sub-par critics that don't know an herb from a weed, feel free to overpay for this pathetic rag.

If it were not for Dallas' pretentious consumers wanting to see their name in print with the magazines Top Lists that appear each month, this magazine would be bankrupt forever. I'm pretty sure that anything you might read or hear from this magazine is anything BUT journalism, unless you pay for it!

You would think that Dallas' restaurant boom would garner the ability to hire real food critics that know what ingredients might be in a dish without a Food Lovers COmpanion and guide from a competing restaurant to review someone. Nichols is a poor excuse for being a writer or food critic, but hey, maybe that summer at Chili's did her some good......

Nancy's Side

Well, this is quite a nasty report. At least I use my name when I have an opinion. For the record, I never worked at Chili's.

You make a lot of claims but you do not back them up with examples. You also make numerous errors and poor assumptions.

1. D Magazine has not been bankrupt several times. And even if it had, or even suffered bad years, we are the personification of surviving in a tough economy and the era of print media decline. Magazines that are fraudulent, as you insist, do not last 40 years.

2. Our "reviews are bought and sold" you say? How does a magazine dining critic buy a review? If I sold reviews do you think I would be typing this? Can you please show me some proof of this claim? No, I'm sure you can't.

3. "If you want advice on where or what to do, use Texas Monthly or cravedfw for your information. Otherwise, if you want to know who likes to buy their reviews from pathetic sub-par critics that don't know an herb from a weed, feel free to overpay for this pathetic rag." I would like to see how many meals cravedfw pays for before they write about a restaurant. I am more than happy to send you copies of my expense reports that go back 17 years. I pay for every bite of food I write about. I'm not so sure crave can make that claim.

So, now it is your turn to give me examples and proof of your claims. I don't take myself seriously, but I take my job seriously and I will defend it. Oh, and tell me your name. Otherwise you are slinging anonymous crappy hash which has less value than a review of free food.

Your pal,

Nancy
