I got a facebook message advising that I won PCH. They sent a picture of a suitcase of money, some wheely bags, PCH balloons and a picture of Danille holding a check. I told my husband yah right and told them I was so excited I could hug them. Then they asked if I got a scratcher. I adv where would I get this scratcher and they sent me a picture of a PCH brown envelope. I told them I do all mine online (trying to condense in very short sentences). Well then they took a picture of a green dot card and asked if I can make it to walgreens, CVS, Kmart and ETC. Adv I could get one. They advised I needed a $495 on the card and would be returned double that amount when they show up at my house. I advised I did not have the money. They asked when I might and advised Friday. They sent me another Facebook message advising they will text me with details since I gave them my cell number and mailing address.

#2 Consumer Suggestion
Facebook Message from PCH about win and Green Dot card purchase
AUTHOR: Tom - (United States)

Dear complaintant, here's a bit of a heads up regarding your complaint, and how to avoid them in the future.
1st, almost anyone with computer and photoshop skills can cut and paste, chop and show, on a counterfeit page, what looks like an official site for almost any company, and even government agencies, Universitites, Lottery operators, etc.
Solution, you should always contact these entities thru their official site, phone number, etc, and you can verify by the address in the url bar, or the https:// that proceeds all legitimate privacy protected sites. And of course, choosing the correct search url when using a search engine, such as google, where the title says what you're looking for, but the link has additional info in it not related to the entity you are looking for. These are usually click for pay sites that may or may not refer you to the correct official site, such as "https://www.PCH.com", or "https://search.pch.com/" for their official Search and Win site.
2nd, 'ANY TIME YOU HAVE A SITE TELLING YOU TO GO TO "GREEN DOT"', and to put an amount of money on one of those cards to send to them, so they can process your prize.........it is a GIANT RED FLAG, and you should avoid it at all costs!!! No legitimate sweepstakes, raffle or lottery host will EVER ASK FOR MONEY IN ORDER TO GIVE YOU YOURS!!
Also, do not believe the info hackers that scam you with a son, daughter, grandson, granddaughter having been kidnapped for ransom type schemes. Correct response is to call the person supposedly being held, on another line, and then give the phone number of those who called you, to the police of FBI. Note: If No Caller ID, Don't answer those types of calls.......PERIOD!
The scammers watch Facebook sites to find out when people are travelling, to use this info to exploit relatives of indiscriminate posters of everything in their life.
Also, the IRS, FBI, DEA, STATE TAX BOARD, ETC, will always contact you thru the mail when there are issues concerning you, So don't fall for that con where you get a call from the IRS, and Abdul tells you you are about to be arrested and your bank accounts siezed, for taxes due or fraud, cuz he don't work for the government.
Bottom line, start using your head and take responsibility for your responses to these cons. We live in a day and age where counterfeitting, fraudulent misrepresentation, and The Con Man, are the motus operandi of the moment.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
