Ok, I have to say, he was the best actor I have ever met in my life. I lived in New York for years, and I have never fall for scams like this before, I guess I learned my lessons after all. It happed around 7pm-ish, I was at my car wash station in West Hollywood around Martel. I was just finishing up wash my car, this guy drove over in a Chrysler Pacifica (silver) rental car. He asked me if I speak Italian or French or Spanish. I asked him what was up. He said he got a gift for me. He pulled out 3 leather jackets said they were Armani jackets. I asked him why, he said he work for a big Italin modeling agency in Milan, he was here for a photo shoot for a few days. He went out party the night before with this Cuban girl, and she stole everything from him, so he had no money to return the rental car plus pay the import tax for the leather jackets which he got as a gift from the company.
He said his airline ticket is from Lufthansa, and it's a open ticket. He needs to return the car to get his ticket back from the rental place. I didn't believe him at the first, but his Italian was good and sounded native, he showed me his passport 3 times, ID and car rental receipts and all. He kept telling me that he will Western Union or wire the money to me as soon as he gets back. His name is Danilo Rippa. He also got his father on the phone, and the number he dialed was in Italy, and he also spoke perfect Italian on the phone. This guy almost cried in front of me. That got me believed him. So, I told him I will help him out. I gave him $400, and he gave the jacekts which I told him that I will mail to him after he gets back to Italy. After I came home last night, I retraced the steps a few times, and I knew I was ripped off. According to the site, I am not the only one here.

Working late, got out at 830 or so and walking at 47th and lex, guy pulls over in a beige suv and asks directions to the Lincoln Tunnel. Very friendly Italian guy saying he's trying to get hometo Italy. He says he's a fashion designer with these jackets he doesn't want to bring back to italy with him because he doesn't want to have to pay tax on them.
He showed me credit cards, passport, plane tickets, everything and the jackets had the authentication #'s and everything. I completely bought the whole thing. Ended up paying 600 for 3 very nice looking jackets perfect for a family member's birthday of mine.
They came with the right wrappers, tags, and everything that he said totalled a worth of 4500. Today has been the absolute worst day, I have never felt so stupid.
I took his business card, it said

I am not sure how to link this to the other messages already reporting this (Which is how I found out I got ripped off because it's definitely the exact same situation as others have described, except Robert from NYC only paid 60, not 600!) The entry i'm referring to is Robert's Rebuttal titled SKETCH ARMANI REPORTAGE GUYS.

SKETCH ARMANI REPORTAGE GUYS

Same thing hapened to me except in New York. I'm from New York to and I just say no to pretty much everything. I must have a kind face because lots of people talk to me on the street anyway, besides, since I'm from New York I see this sorta thing all the time. I mean, the fakes look great in New York, so you have to have a keen eye, or like me, just refrain from all offers, however.....
This guy, "Antonio" had such a similar story. I was about to go to this club and got out some money when he stopped his car, told me I looked Italian, and asked me to direct him to the Lincoln Tunnel.. he showed me the jackets, blah blah blah, but was just so flustered and authentic looking I couldn't resist. They looked nice, felt nice, and had tons of authenticity card in the pockets of each one. He asked me if I was Italian and asked me to look at them after. Said he was a designer for Armani. Hey even held the jackets like he made 'em.. Hey, I only lost 60 bucks. He said he had to get rid of them, he already had one in Italy. Needless to say, he left without directions for the Lincoln Tunnel and stopped someone else up the block shortly after.
I shoulda got it for less..
50 cents!
...next time...
can't believe this happens on both coasts.. good luck.
