When I received my October bank statement I realized that $394.00 had been withdrawn from my checking account. My husband and I had no idea where our money went. I contacted our bank and they gave me a toll free phone number to a company named Datasafe Solutions. I tried to contact them for 3 days and only answer I received was a answering service. And never received a return phone call after leaving messages all day. I went to my bank and they gave me a printout of the transaction with a check number of 1186, but I was told that it was an automated transaction with my name for approval, and on the back it stated For Deposit Only, Pay to the order of LANDMARK CLEARING. The date on the Transaction was Oct. 7, 2008. I was not aware of it until receiving my statement in the first week of November, and my bank told me that since it was not October that they could not do anything about it. This company has my account number and everything and I have no idea how they got my information and was able to use my name to authorize the transaction. The bank said that it was authorized over the phone by me, and I did not do that.
I have been unable to contact them or find out who they are, where they are located, or who they are and how they obtained my information.
We feel so helpless, and are trying our best to find out how this happened.

Landmark Clearing sent a letter back on 10/28/08 after much pushing from the general ripped off public and financial institutions. It provided a number to call if you were victim to an unauthorized draft endorsed by them. Call them at 972-239-2327
If that doesn't get you anywhere call back your bank. Ask for their Fraud or Loss Prevention department. Don't just speak to Joe Shmoe call center repand tell them you want the draft returned as an unauthorized draft!!
