I bought a house from this company and 3 years later it has a pretty major problem but they won't even come check it out or fix it.  Are now they are hiding behind another company name: Firstar.  They say that firstar is no longer licensed so they can't fix it therefore.  On my closing docs its says "Firstar DBA GSHomes Inc."  When you google firstar and cal lthe number GS homes answered and said they were a sister company.  So to me that is a joke.  They are using the system to cover their a*s and get out of thier responsibitlies.  It is most likely they used sub par material or just didnt' fasten it up to industry standards or code and now dont' want to get stuck having to fix their sub par work.

The entire second floor is squeaking so bad its like a heard of elephants walking. Sub Floor is also moving like its not properly fastened to the structure.   floor dips in places.  They told me I have past their warranty so tough luck.  Refered me to their warranty company who I supposedly have a 10 year warranty with on the structure but they claim thats not structural problem so they also will not come take a look at it.  That company is also a sham in my opinon.  So dont' fall for that one either.  Bonded builders warranty group.  They say in there policy that they will only cover the structural flaws if the building is uninhabitable.  Great Warrany huh?  And they claim the sub floor is not structural.  By the way thier definition of "structural' is load bearing.  That leaves alot of wiggle room for them.  So they too are not worth the paper the warranty is printed on

I bought this place because it was advertised as a quality builder with a solid warranty but that seems to be a sham.  Do yourself a favor and DO NOT BUY from "Great" southern builders.  They are not that great.

This person has the builder in Columbia, SC confused with a builder in Clermont, FL.  The builder from Clermont, FL has never owned a company in SC, built a house in SC nor held a license in SC.  The company in SC was not owned by a David Wallace as is stated in the corporate documents on file with the state of SC.  The company name in SC, although similar, is not the same company name of the corporation in FL.
