bought a Dell computer in December of 2008. Was never billed. Got a phone call from collections.

I am never late on anyting.....ever! I have a 34 page perfect credit report to prove it...except the blemish from Dell Financial.

For someone that just settled a class action suit, they sure seem to be up to the same old tricks.

I was also told that a monthly billing statement was a courtesy and it was my responsibility to hunt them down if they don't send one. I will never own another Dell product as long as I live...and being only 42, I hope that will be a long time!!!

i guess we all must be stupid...except david??

AUTHOR: Doug - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 20, 2010

it would only take a minute to find out how DFS does their business. obviously a minute i should have taken. however, david, to run a business and not send out bills as a means of increasing revenue is not my idea of good business. in fact a comment posted on this site from someone that was "inside" estimated that DFS did this to about 30% of its customers. a lot of idiots out there i guess...except david. by the way...this is my only blemish on my otherwise perfect credit, a task that even smart people like yourself aspie to.

Missing Bill

AUTHOR: David W - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 06, 2010

While I agree that you should have been sent an invoice, what were you thinking?  You buy a computer, never get a bill, and you think that it's never going to catch up to you?  Every business makes mistakes, and I would venture a guess that whoever you work for goofs things up now and then as well - it's human nature.  There is such a thing called Personal Responsibility.

You bought the computer, you knew you owed the money, and you made no efforts to see what was going on.  Now you want to be all shocked and surprised that Collections is calling you about a bill you knew you had and never paid?

David
