DFW Pool Builders Beware Of DFW Pool Builders Internet, Texas

Beware of DFW Pool Builders! I was unfortunate enough to find their listing in the 2009 Verizon Yellow Pages. They had a great add, website and returned my call promptly when I called for an estimate on having my pool remodeled. Hector Gonzaga is who came out to my house and provided the quote. He came across as very knowledgeable in building pools. He suggested we use Diamond Brite Plaster and his quote was about the same as most of the estimates I received. Hector had book of photos of other pools he claimed to have built. Before he started the work, I checked with the BBB and did not find any negative reports. He was a little pushy to get started.

When he did start the project, he wanted half of the money down and I did not find that out of place. I was told that it would take about 3 days to complete the job. The 3 days turned into 7 days! As milestones progress, I paid Hector. He made it clear that he need the money to pay suppliers. This did not give me a warm feeling and made me wonder if he had the resources to fix any problem that might come up. I made the mistake of going ahead and making the final payment without the job being completed. Each day, Hector would not show up in time nor would he call and let us know he was going to be late. He did complete the tile work and the plaster work. He did not supply the need plumbing jets as he had promised to do and was paid for!

When he started up my pool, he added too much acid to my pool and it damaged the plaster. Hector would not return my calls to finish the job, and make the necessary repairs to my plaster. After spending over 2 weeks of trying to locate him, He accidently answered his cell phone and he agreed to come out and look at the pool. He did come out and said he was sorry for not calling me back for weeks and offered that he was working out of town. He said he would come back out and make all repair in a week and I told him that would be fine. I was willing to work around his schedule. It has now been over three weeks from when he came out, and he still has not called me back or attempted to make any repairs! This has prompted me to try and track him down.

After many hours of doing searches, I still cant find out who the owners of DFW Pool Builders is. They are not listed with the Texas Comptrollers office. I know who some of his suppliers are and I went to them and asked if they had any other phone numbers or a valid address. I did get an address but it turns out that it is a truck repair building, not a pool company! I asked his suppliers if they have had any problems with Hector or DFW Pool Builders and they said that several other people have come to their office in search of Hector for the same type of issues. I have also used Google to search his phone number 214-335-4002 and I received several hits linking this number to Aztec Pool Service. I had a rep from the plaster company come out and look at the plaster. He said that too much acid was added and that it had caused the damage, but said it could be repaired by sanding the affected area. He did say that the plaster work looked good but adding too much acid should have never happened! I just wanted my pool to be repaired!
