On Thursday, February 28, 2008, I received a phone call from William Lumpkin with Diamond First Premier VMC. He stated that I applied for a credit card in August of 2007, and was denied because the agent who processed me put me in for a higher amount then I requested, and my credit history was not the best. He stated he was taking over her cases and making them right with the customers she "screwed".
He offered me a credit card with a $7500 limit. $5000 in credit card purchases and $2500 for cash advances. The information he provided sounded sincere, concrete, and promising, and he said I could check them against the BBB, FDIC, etc. He encouraged that this would be a good way to get my credit back on track. I was convinced this would be a good way to reestablish and rebuild my credit. He assured me there were no annual or monthly fees. He quoted me a $300 security fee that would be returned in 60 days, a reference code, and informed me he was recording the conversation for quality assurance, so I sent the money via Western Union.
He told me the package would arrive the following day (February 29, 2008) between 0830 and 1030. It never came. I called and he said, "They went up on your fee, but I can help." I asked what the fee was, and he said the total would be $750. I told him I was unable to send an additional $450. He asked, "What can you send?" I sent an additional $98 via Western Union. Keep in mind, there are additional fees attached when sending money. He told me the package was in my city and would be to me within the next hour to hour and a half. I called when it did not come, and he stated they have up to seven o'clock to deliver. I have not spoke with William Lumpkin since. He will not return my messages, and he hung up on me twice when he heard my voice.
I am appauled that someone could be so convincing and promising, but not keep their word. He guaranteed me this was ligit, and I could check them against the BBB, FDIC, etc. How can I get my money back? How can I get what was promised to me. I sent my hard earned money and got nothing in return. It has been a week today, and I am still waiting for my package or to speak with William Lumpkin.
