My name is Trevor and i did the Walt Disney World College Program and i was only there for a month. I loved my roommates they were awesome, i got along with all of them they were like a second family away from my own family.

Long story short i was terminated because i went to pleasure island one day with my x girlfriend and i lost all of my ids (my NY state License, Chatham Id to get in the complex and to get on the buses, and my Disney ID so i couldn't clock into work) So i called my work 4 times and left messages on the answering machine and then the next couple of days passed and they said that i had a 4 day no call no show which was an automatic termination. I even tried to have them talk to my roommates who were there when i called my work and they heard my messages which were about 7 minutes long each. Everybody i talked to said that it was bullsh*t! Even though i had a blast there meet so many new people who i am going to keep in touch forever. I am going to try and do it again next May!

So now i am back home in NY having no fun while two of my special girls are in Florida and which is killing me that i can't see them or hangout with them like i was doing downthere.

This isnt party cental

AUTHOR: Gerald - (U.S.A.)

Trevor:
You went there to learn a trade, not get laid.
There is no real rip off of by the park in this report. Or is it the part at the end where the 2 girls that you were "hinging" with and couldnt see them any longer the rip off?

Since the report was created @ 2 years ago, I doubt that you are waiting around here for a reply but for what it is worth, here is my 2 cents.

I was young once, I used that same excuse for not showing up to work. It didnt work for me, while reading this I knew it wouldnt work for you either.

Since time has gone by, I hope that you have lifted your brain above your belt line since then and have found that keeping a job requires being there on time, in uniform, ready to work.
But the work you were going to be doing was prob. because you are studying the service/ entertainment industry. So you should have known this before you stepped out the door of your house.

Not staring at the panty lines of the chicks walking by either. Or hitting on the guests daughter's.

A day or 2 I could see, trying to get in touch with people and not having the information too contact them at hand. But that 2nd day, you bet your butt I would have been at that front gate; talking to the gate keeper and asking them for a telephone to contact someone in that park.

I notice that you didnt really explain what you were occupied with during that 4 day hiatus. I have an active immagination and could guess correctly in one guess. Since this is a "family site" I digress.

The only rip off here is that YOU wasted the park's time and efforts, wssted room where someone who truly would have been an asset and not an a*s.

I have seen college kids @ work before. It amazes me how they get by doing so little.

to K- in Woburn:
You tried, more than some will ever have done!1 Good Job!!

To Peter: I think that they did get the messages that he sent them. I think the reason they didnt reply back was because this isnt the first time that they heard the same lame excuse and knew what was going on.

Your behavior was inexcusable

AUTHOR: Peter - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, September 07, 2006

Just because you left a couple messages on some random answering machine does not justify no-showing for work for 4 days in a row! That constitutes job abandonment and immediate termination by any company. It does not sound like you made any effort at all to show up at the entrance to prove your identity and attempt to gain access to your work site. You just stayed at home thinking that your messages were enough -- how do you even know that your messages reached the intended recipient? They obviously didn't, since you did not receive the response you needed.

Working for Disney, like any other company, is a JOB with responsibilities that go along with it. Reading your report, it appears that you were not there for the purposes of working, but for "hanging out with your girls." Taking any job for the purpose of picking up chicks is inexcusable. Let someone who is willing to work take the job instead.

housing are the true culprits

AUTHOR: K - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 06, 2006

I was asked to do the college program and went to check in. At check in I realized that this program was BS; first off disney does not even handle the housing themselves, nor is the housing on disney property. That in its self is just unethical, during the presentation giving at my school (I went to two different ones) they explain that the housing is based on Arrival Date and Departure date. Well when I got their I was told a complete different story, they wanted me to live with one other person who had been there for several months and was leaving in november; after a half hour of complaining the some random guy from some random management company they said I could live in a different apartment with five other people who had been there for a few months but I would have to move again a few days before my job was suppose to be over.

They then continued to say that they can't garuntee permanent residence, that if 50% of the residence of my apartment leave they FORCE you to move... that is just un-justicifiable. It is unfare to force people to move who have fulfilled their part of the contract, also it allows for a unstable residence (making it unsafe if your constantly moved around into new neighborhoods which is a posability) also an unstable paycheck since the money for the rent is docked out of your pay weekly and the rent is different for certain apartments...

I also found out upon my arrival that the program had been overbooked so there could not be a garuntee that I would be able to work enough hours to make a rent of $83 a week...

how do they expect anyone to be able to eat, and survive with the unstableness providided. I could not do it, and I believe many others couldn't. I am lucky that since I did not finish check in I was never considered a true Cast Member.

Some individuals may have been informed of this but I certainly was not... lets just say my dream of working at disney was shot. Now it was not completely disney's fault, I mean they do need to ensure that they will have enough employees during the busy seasons, the main issue was the management company who runs the housing for the program. Those are the real individuals in my opinion who are ripping people off...

I dont understand, why didn't you contact Cast Services?

AUTHOR: Denny - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, February 12, 2006

Casting will be the ones who handle all your Missing id's especially, your disney id.

Why didn't you contact Casting the next day? Yes, call into work, if you happen to be the first shift, but YOU sat for four days and not contacted Casting?

When you enter the College program they TELL you where everything is, and make sure you understand where you must go, INCLUDING CASTING. ITs a big building near Downtown Disney and you can see it from the freeway.

What i sense, is someone making up excuses, and sat around for four days and did nothing, but wait by the phone.

You're mostly responsible for your predicament.

#1 UPDATE Employee

sorry that sucks

AUTHOR: Amanda - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, February 12, 2006

I know that really sucks for you but I just wanted to let you know that they were probably looking to fire you. I know it's not fair, but Florida is a right to work state so they can fire you for any reason they want to but Disney tries to butter it up and find a stupid excuse. From what it sounds like, you hung with these girls too much or talked about them too much and they didn't like that so they got rid of you. They might even put you in the system as a no hire and you might not be able to come back in May. If you do get a chance to come back though, the same thing might just happen again. Just be careful and don't let work know that you party or have too much fun. They don't like that.
