I took my car into the Dobbs here in Wentzville for a front end alignment since the vehicle pulls slightly to the right. Just for the record I am an ASE Certified Tech who repairs and maintains his own vehicles, I just don't have an "Alignment Rack" in my garage...So I dropped it off the night before and spoke with the manager on duty who assured me it would be done before 12 noon the next day.
About 10 am the next morning I got a phone call from Dobbs stating they cannot perform the alignment because the lower control arm was bent as well as the right front strut. Without skipping a beat the guy says he can replace the control arm and both front struts for a total of $800 something... I stopped him and said "let me get this straight, you claim the "strut" is bent as well as the lower control arm, I'm pretty sure the strut is not bent" he then says "well its not bent but its in a bind because of the lower control arm"
Right then I knew he was lying, I said don't do anything, take the vehicle off the alignment rack and I will come get it. After speaking with the store manager and picking up the car I took it to another repair facility to have the alignment done, I didn't mention anything that Dobbs "claimed" and later that day I got the call saying the vehicle was done and I could come pick it up. The service writer said everything went well and they had no issues. Just as I expected.. So nice try Dobbs! I'm sure your location pulls this type of scheme day in and day out and has great success with it. Screwing Single women, the elderly, etc. I will tell everyone I know about my experience and urge them to take thier automotive concerns somewhere else. Word of mouth is the best advertising!

Maybe you should read the post again, If there WAS something wrong (i.e. broken parts, BENT parts) then it wouldn't have been able to be aligned, the shop would have told me the same thing Dobbs told me. Also alignments can be thrown off by hitting a pothole, hitting something in the road etc. with breaking or bending any suspension or steering components.

Considering the ONLY reason the factory settings are no longer in place is because something is worn out, or damaged, why do you suppose the alignment needed to be done?
