Donna Foss Mountain Valley Shih Tzu Sold me a dog that NEVER had real papers because it is a mix which was sold to me as a pure bred shihtzu. Fake vet papers, not even the correct birthdate. Got a mixed breed dog w/ fake vet papers and the wrong birthdate when I paid for a pure breed. Athens, Maine

Five years ago I purchased a dog from Donna Foss. I chose this dog over their website and less than 6 wks later I was met by a woman other than Donna herself and was given this puppy. The index card that I received had a different birthdate that was on the original advertisement. The puppy had worms and it was evident that she did not have AKC papers that were promised to me. I emailed for several months asking for the papers to no avail. They never came and she never responded.

At five months this puppy was diagnosed with a hereditary,degenerative hip disorder which required a $1700 surgery. I called Ms. Foss and demanded my money back or to have her pay a portion of the vet bill for this dog. She refused to pay any portion and offered me an exchange for a new puppy. I asked again what kind of dog she was and she didn't answer me. I took that as she had completely forgotten what dog she was "supposed" to have sold me.

I have had no other contact from her ever again.

Do NOT do business with this woman, she clearly runs a dishonest operation.

I too had terrible dealings with Donna Foss, but it was with selling her a dog not buying. I sent her a dog (she had put a deposit on it), but she did not pay the full amount until end of October 2007 (almost a YEAR later) and that was with me almost having to file against her. I am told that she has nice dogs (I know she has one), but she can be difficult to deal with, and your have to stay on her about payments.

I would just suggest to anyone thinking of getting a puppy or grown dog from her to GO TO HER HOUSE and look the puppy over carefully, and make sure to take it to your vet immediately upon receiving him or her.
