DownloadNova.com Deceptive billing, false advertisment, scam, fraud, ripoff N/a Internet

This site and its affiliated companies are a complete rip off. I was looking for a faster way of downloading songs and movies. Googling one day I found that a site called "DownloadNova.com" actually had a lot of the movies and songs I was looking for. Come to find out the site had a small joining fee of only $4.95 to begin downloading. Getting access to a whole bunch of movies and songs seemed to be a good bargain at $4.95 so I went ahead and paid.

After paying the $4.95 immediately some red flags came up. It now said that I had activated three day trial memberships to three sites. One called "MegaDownloadPass.com" another called "Vipbookmark.com" and one called "DiscountVideoPass." I had in no way given discretion to "DownloadNova.com" to activate trial memberships to these sites! These sites were also predominately porn web sites.

It only got worse from there. Once I had paid the "joining fee" on DownloadNova.com, I searched for some of the videos and songs that appeared in their database before I had paid and found out that they were no longer there! Not a single one. After searching more this site is nothing more than a glorified download link finder which searches for download links on sites such as Rapidshare and torrent sites. There are hundreds of these on the internet that provide the same service for free.

When reading the fine print and researching more you finally see the bigger picture. Once the trail memberships expire you will automatically become a full member and be charged $30 a month from EACH site! Had I not canceled my membership I would have been billed nearly $100 a month for these sites. It still is mind boggling that I did not give "DownloadNova.com" any discretion that I wanted to sign up for ANY of these sites. Furthermore there is not a single piece of information informing the user you will be given trail memberships to these sites when you are about to pay. I am assuming "DownloadNova.com" gets some form of kick back for activating trial memberships to these sites.

Alarmed I immediately called up the customer service number. Which if you have activated call 1-800-934-1875 immediately. Surprisingly the customer service woman was actually very helpful and I was able to cancel all three of my memberships with ease and received verification of my cancellation. They all seem to use the same customer support service line.

My advice STAY AWAY. They are a scam. There is also no address of where the company is located. After researching some more I found that apparently it is a French company but I cannot verify this. Either way it's a massive rip off.
